Derivative
it is multiple oscillators set to ramp or pulse with perhaps 1 on saw with an *expensive* delay and reverb on it and what sounds like a thin flanger. sounds like its bandpassed filtered with a little bit of resonance. 0 attack on the envelope, little bit of decay, turn the sustain up about a 1/4 to 1/3 of the way round and the release up to about half way so the note decays. whack an EQ on it and make a litte boost around 7000 to 10000 hz to give it some air.

thats pretty much all you need to know. you can try this in any subtractive synth although some synths are more suited to this than others. try them out. i reckon i could something similar sounding in vanguard by layering a few of them.

EDIT: i built something a bit like it just now. it sounds soft cuz the whole thing is compressed and it takes the edge off the 0 attack on both the filter and volume envelopes. without compression it sounds harsh. i built it using supersaw 06 and vanguard. vanguard is set to 2 saws and 1 ajx saw. i tried it with pulse waves and the initial attack on it was just too much. lowering the attack on the filter envelope just made it WUB annoyingly. 0 attack, 1/3 decay on both envelopes about 2 thirds sustain on both envelopes and about 1/2 release on both envelopes. i put it on the M filter and its set about 3/4 open. 0 resonance. LFO speed set to 0 with slight detune to the left on the first LFO. 2nd LFO, max out the speed and detune it slightly to the right. have the ajx saw set to the same LFO settings as the first.

i used SIR impulse reverb and fruity delay and a thin fruity flanger on the vanguard. the delay is pretty rubbish so it doesnt ring out like the demo you posted. the reverb is down to a tea. i used the lexicon PCM halls reverb and tweaked the bright halls impulse. if you have a host i can mail you an mp3. unfortunately i use fl studio. if you have a copy or if you can obtain a copy through a mate (be sure to buy it afterwards cuz it rules!) id be happy to send you the flp so you can tweak it to your hearts delight. i reckon another vanguard set to pulse wave running over the top, filtered to the right timbre will bring it out a bit. that and a good delay should make it pretty accurate.
