Hey with last yr being my first time to miami it was quite a learning experience. I know now I want to have my hotel on or around south beach and not in downtown. Well anyhow my question to you all is what hotels on ocean drive or that area are good as far as partys during the day, price, quality, and over all location. Thanks for any info you can help me with.

What a coincidence, we were about to post the same inquiry.

Hi Florida TAs,

My girlfriend and I will be attending the WMC as well and would also greatly appreciate suggestions in regards to which vicinity we should be searching for accomodations, and the proximity of the Wyndham Miami Beach resort to South Beach.

Thanks in advance :)

I went down with some freinds in 2003, and we didn't even have a hotel reserved before we got there, and managed to find some places at a fairly decent rate closer towards North Beach.

Northbeach, EEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

Far away, no parties, old people, plus a $30 cab ride to Space.

If u don't wanna spend $300+ a night to stay in South Beach in the middle of all the action, then it might be worth it to head just a bit further. Besides, there are some areas just north of South Beach that are still within walking distance of most of the cool stuff on Ocean Drive, Washington Ave, etc.

Otherwise, rent a car when u hit the airport. :D

Finding the right WMC hotel is a bit of an art. You just need to know where to look.

My hotel is already set...

:D :D :D :D :D

well if one is planning on being at alot of beach or pool parties then stay on sobe...if you are planning on going to space 2 or more of the nights, which i will be there probably 3 of the 4 then stay downtown...i am staying downtown...2 yrs ago i stayed on the beach and i had to take cabs to space which is like 20 each way...downtown you can go to space easier and if you want to go to the beach during the day you can drive, or if u cab it is cheaper cause the bridge isnt always backed up...my point is that if you plan on going to the beach for prob only one or 2 parties it is bettet to be closer to space for the rest...hope this helps...RzO

Anyone from ATL going down who might be able to give me a ride? I can throw in for gas (and I have AAA too :D ).

I also might need to find someone to split a room with, it depends on if I can get one of my friends to go (and so far it's not looking too good). If anyone else is going solo and might need some help footing the bill let me know.

I'm down in Savannah, plannin on driving down from here at this point. Shouldn't be anywhere near the pain it was to drive from Chicago like we did when i was living in the midwest at the time in 2003...
