Build a set from my crappy tunes...

I don't know if I should dare post a listing of my records, but in my defense I bought most of these several years ago when I first started listening to electronic music. I'm only now starting to actually use them.

If these were the only tracks you had, what would your set consist of. I'm a newbie so try to pick tracks that would be easy to mix together, and I'll give it a shot.

Here's my collection: http://www.discogs.com/collection?user=cheesy99

Thanks.

Also, in your opinion, which of these records do you consider "best"?

No offense but half of your tunes could be described by your username. :stongue:

But.... the PVD tunes are nice, you might be able make a set using those with some of the "Parade of the Athletes" songs and the Mauro Picotto song...

The Moby, Fatboy Slim, and Daft Punk tracks are nice but wouldn't be appropriate for a trance set.

Yeah I admit like 3-4 years ago I basically went to some pop record store and picked out all the tracks I had heard of...but I've learned my lesson, and hope some day some of those tracks will be worth enough to make back the money I wasted on them :)

You don't have Perfect Phase - Horny Horns, or DJ Jean - The Launch, you call yourself cheesy....BOOOO....HISS

But seriously I dunno what to really do with those tracks, its quite the variety you got there.

And on a more serious note, I actually own both those records I said about....I know I know....but Perfect Phase is a secret weapon for if the crowd turns out to be a hip hop crowd, you throw this bad boy on and crank the gains and high EQs, and blow all there eardrums.

i'd work something out in the lines of

moby - porcelain (futureshock instrumental)
daft punk - faster, harder... (pete heller dub)
fischerspooner - emerge (junkie xl mix)
fusion feat. hardwick - resistance (steve porter mix)
paul van dyk - vega (starecase mix)
paul van dyk feat saint etienne - tell me why (vandit mix)
thrillseekers - synaethesia (thrillseekers club mix)
atb - 9pm (matt darey remix)
alice deejay - lonely one (airscape mix)
voodoo & serano - blood is pumpin

Alright, new question, which two tracks from my collection (linked in the first post) would you recommend a newbie such as myself use to learn to beatmatch? I don't have two of the same vinyl, but I ripped some of them to my computer so I've gotten beatmatching two of the same tracks down. Now I need to start with two different tracks. I've tried a few combinations without much luck, any suggestions?

Just try any 2 from the list Montana posted, there all kinda close in being able to be mixed and sound good.

Also, try writing down the bpm of a few of the tracks (counting methods are easy to find), and start with two that only differ by 1 or 2 bpm. You won't need to move the pitch slider much to get them beatmatched. You could try two tracks with the same bpm as well, but the potential problem there is that even a very small, undetectable difference in the tempo will cause the tracks to slowly drift apart even if both pitch sliders are set to 0. Hope that helps you some.
