| generally i'd look at the crowd, see if there's any hunnies lookin up at me and if there are, id strike a pose with the headphones in some weird position that looks cool (but is honestly not very practical to mix in) then pretend to fiddle with the mixer. yes i admit it, dont slam me :) |

pfft everyone knows if your a sucessfull DJ you have to be like Okey or Tiesto and strike the "Jesus" pose, or get one of your e records and clap with it in your hands :rolleyes: thought everyone knew that :toothless
personally i fiddle with the effects... or pretend like im doing something interesting with the EQ on an unused channle or something, cant really talk to the ladies because i have a girl friend and she is usually there with me anyways, so i talk to her a lot of the time as well... |

I'm assuming you have chosen the absolute best record to mix in and still have 5 minutes to go (rare IMO) but ok....
- Find another record/cd which will mix in well, put it on the 3rd deck, beat match, overlay it over the running track, first with no bass, then cut bass back and forth (if its in the same key this will sound perfect). Possiblities are endless, just don't overdo it I guess
- Do tricks on current turntable, with house/prog you can do stop/start turntable, power off power on (you probably need to practice this at home otherwise it can sound like ass) - if you do it right it can really turn peoples heads and trick them into thinking you really know what you are doing..heheh
- Bass cuts/mid cuts etc....use sparingly for effect
By this time it should be 2 minutes to go and you can start mixing in. You should never really have time to do anything else unless you are doing end to end mixing which isn't really using your skills to the full potential! |

What do ya'll do in the 5 minutes between pressing "Submit Reply" and waiting to be taken back to the thread?
Do you:
A. Rub one out
B. Dance
C. Stand around and look stupid
D. Drink your beer
E. Talk to your buddies off to the side of the computer
F. Leave the computer and walk around
G. Press keys on the keyboard like you are actually typing something
