Hi guys,

Im currently using an amplifier thats from 1983 (!!!) its a Toshiba make and is cool as , but its had its day and I'd prefer to get a new amplifier, plz could someone recommend me an amp suitable for my set up (2 x technics 1200's), I dont want to pay through the roof for it, £120 max I would say.

Thanks,
DannyO
Hey man, if that an old silver amp with 2 VU meters????, when I was in england I had a old Toshiba mixer like that and sold it back to my mate, who then sold it to another buddy who I think moved away somewhere in england, would be funny as if you got that amp somehow....if you do I'll buy it off you for the same price I bought it off my mate 1 quid:D :D :D :D , god I loved that mixer.

The other amp I had there was the good ol Cambridge Audio A1, that things cheap and is a wicked amp, also look at Marantz amps, just head to Richer Sounds (God I miss that place) and check there out, I see they got a nice Marantz PM4400 for 130 quid or the Denon PMA255 for 140 quid, but just goto Richer Sounds and have them show you there , they were always so good, best service and best prices.

One of the best amp buys at the moment has to be the audiolab a8000, you canb get em on ebay for about £150 and they are a classic british amp. I run a pair of mission m74i's and a 12" passive sub from it, a really clean amp with loads of power.
Do a search on the net for some reviews and you won't be dissapointed.
