Yeah went ok I think today. I'm hoping for 81% on the exam so I'll get a HD overall.:D |
i was sitting on a hd before i went into an exam, and completely totalled it
walked out in 50 minutes and only answered 1 1/2 of the 3 final short answer questions
the leturer must of thought it was funny to include stuff she hadn't put in the revision notes...but thats what you get for missing a semesters worth of lectures
i hated the unit and ill probably have to do it again in my next degree
just one to go....cant freakin wait to let loose. back to study |

| ahh that sux! I hate looking at questions in an exam thinking "damn this is the first time I have seen anything like this". |

| You think that's bad? I got mathematics for economists 372 tomorrow.:nervous: |

| bloody formula memorising:whip: |

I'm so screwed, I've got 3 exams in the next 2 days.
Maths, Digital Logic, and Signals & systems... which basically equates to fuzzy maths, pure maths, and applied maths.
I can't study for the life of me, always procrastinating (apparently  ) and I end up with my head on the desk staring a the floor. :( |

if i had known that my exam was going to be easy, i wouldnt have given up studying.....
dammit, i coulda aced that with a bit more revision. as it stands, the fail is still the most probable option.... |

I'd focus on signals and systems.
Maths is just formula work. Practice enough past exams, and you'll snap it. Once you've got the formulas down, and the way they expect you to manipulate them to get the result, it shouldn't be too bad.
Digital logic shouldn't be too hard either. It's all ANDing and ORing in the end anyway. Again, just a matter of knowing the predicate logic rules... modus ponens and all that...
Signals is the pain in the ass. Real time convolution (as compared to discrete) still screws with me. However, as I recall, it's all mostly transformations into all the different domains. It's really just a lot of maths work. The tricky part is understanding what they're trying to apply it to... |

Well, digital logic shoudln't be too bad, its a pass atleast, mainly just memory work, which I'm fairly good with.
Maths is more procedures than formulas, just remembering the steps for any given problem, there arn't any all powerful god formulas anymore.
And systems... well... makes little to no sence, I can derive the equations from the physical setup, but I don't think my maths is strong enough, or I don't have a good enough grounding to be able to manipulate it well enough to get a useful result.
The concepts and alike I'm alright with. |

If you can derive the equations, you're halfway there. Do they give you a cheat sheet in the exam with all the transforms on it? If they do, you might be able to scam your way through it.
Just get the equations from the physical setup, and convert to whatever transform they want. From there it should be a matter of solving fractional algebra using partial fractions. That and using the transform correctly never hurt...
So in the end, you aren't as screwed as you thought :P
I remember when I was doing this I was thinking I was booted, but when you think about it subject by subject, it ain't so bad. |

Good old cheat sheets! I never realised how useful they were until I couldn't use them.
ah crap I'm procrastinating again |
