cingular forever. well the service has been lacking ever since the cingular at&t merger, and cingular's jump from tdma to gsm networks. when it was tdma, 95% of the united states was in the tdma network. :eyespop: :eyespop: .. yepyep.. when it comes to the united states, it is cingular. next after that is sprint, then either a tie between t-mobile or verizon. i heard verizon has the worst coverages ever, and t-mobile cannnot get good connections in busy cities, such as boston, d.c., and los angeles.

i had verizon before. they are absolutely the best in new york and new jersey but they pissed me off with their phone prices (i needed a new one to replace my 2 year old peice of and they wanted me to pay the full $350 cost)

i now have att which is essentially cingular, cause they already share all the same towers. the price is much better and the coverage is the same for me.

i think as far as total nationwide plans go, cingular/att or verizon are your best bet but you really need to find out what is best in the area you would use it most.

i really never experienced that but it depends heavily where you live. verizon is very good in the northeast and near populated areas.

well when my boyfriend went to a wedding in Hawaii (Kauai, more secluded area), he was the only one without service, and all his friends' phones worked fine. they all had verizon. i've heard similar stories too about ppl not getting service somewhere, and someone else did who had verizon. so i'd say go with verizon.

yeah my friend lived in hawaii for a while and verizon was the only real option there. it was like that in puerto rico for a while too but att works there now too.

probably many cities have jumped to the CDMA network (Verizon) .. that network has been popular and growing as of late. a competition for the GSM networks. i like the GSM networks, because of the sim card stuff .. those are nice.

T-mobile.. especially if you fly out of the US constantly. ;-)

Verizon and Cingular have HUGE coverage areas... Verizon is top notch for me., my girl has cingular. we both refuse to switch to each other's carriers. Don't look any further than these two, trust me.

Yeah cingular might be better now that At&T has acquired them...

i use T Mobile in CO and WYO and it works well in big towns and highways...other than that, not too well. problem with cell phones is that they are quite like FM radio, if you dont have a straight shot at the tower they are going to treat you tily, which is why its just a pain in CO and the front range.

i have no experience with coverage but Sprint and Verizon seem to be the best out here. t mob works well most of the time, but not always. they do seem to be a bit cheaper than sprint or verizon as they offer more basic packages. not basic in a lack of features, but basic as you can pick and choose or get only what you want|

Yeah I know what you mean...

Yeah I took that back luckily.

So we're all in agreement not to get virgin.
