The country of Brazil is named after the brazil nut.

No it's not (and they claim it was verified). It was named after a wood whose ink was valuable. The name of that tree was Pau-Brasil (Caesalpinia echinata, or Brazilwood if you will) and the name of the tree the Brazilian nut comes from is Bertholletia excelsa.

For that matter, the name "Brasil" comes from "Brasa" which means "ember", because the red colour. Brazilian Nut is called "Castanha-do-Pará" here.

Nice "verification"

Wait...

Anyways....

I'm willing to bet that a lot of people here didn't even know that we discovered a 10th planet in our Solar System back in March this year. Just out of the orbit of Pluto, the 10th planet of our solar system was named Sedna, after the Inuit Goddess of the Sea. ;)

So if you're driving at about 100 MPH and you suddenly sneeze, does it mean you sneeze as fast as 200 MPH? :conf: :D
Halcyon+On+On
Well you might as well disregard Pluto as well, by their standards. :p

Good info, but a tad subjective, I guess. Not that it's important - we found something out there that we didn't know was there before, and that's what truly matters.

it's still a planet

:stongue: :p
