its ONLY SLR like.....trust me, i get payed for photography.
SLR = Single Lens Reflex
meaning, it needs a mirror, meaning SLRs use a mirror, therefor, anything that isnt "single lens reflex" is not an SLR. |
well I get paid too...
the F717 is an unique case, its one of the rare ones out there where the viewfinder is electronic and mimic that damn "mirror" you're talking about. Even god says so (dpreview.com)
I know it doesn't stand a chance against the other SLRs out there, but still the definition is clear, and the F717 is an SLR. |

How’s the resolution and exposure metering on the rebel? Are there problems with the lens conversion factor on the canons if you use older canon lenses?
| quote: | | You can find slightly used D60 (6MP, better than a 300D) on ebay for like 6-700$...then you need some lenses... |
Do you own the D60? I was checking out the D100 but it's a little steep at $1000 just for the body.
Thx |

I own the D60's younger brother...the D30...examples on my gallery (hit my website button).
The D60 is a full 6MP and a GREAT slr feature wise...maybe a bit slower AF than the 300D but still a great camera... |

I use a spot meter or partial meter probably 70% of the time, so I'm glad that you mentioned that about the 300d; saved me about 800 bucks. |

| AFAIK the 300D has AI Servo...it just switchis between it and one shot automatically (doesnt let you choose) which can be a bitch... |
