| RATM are better than any trance artist I have ever heard. And they had a fair bit of variety to their music. |

i'm hoping Fundamental's comment was a joke. i'm thinking it was.
as for this being a close-minded argument, that's a fact.
they had WORDS, they had RIFFS, they both had purpose and were backed up by jazzy and driving bass and drumlines. if anything sounds remotely similar it's songs on one album, and only really because they have a common theme. even so, the songs themselves are not similar, but inspired by one mindset and the sound itself inspired by the a) level of maturity in the band, and, b) current political status of the world.
RATM =/= Evil Empire =/= Live & Rare =/= Battle of LA =/= Renegades =/= Battle of Mexico City
and i'm sure they'd have another album out this year, released on Nov 02nd or around that date, going off about something similar than in Battle of LA, except five years more mature and with a sound that had developed as much, as well as four years deeper into the falldown of the states under the hands of one of two evil puppets (remember the No Shelter video?). had they not broken up, of course.
i've been into the best of both worlds, and i don't think trance compares. Adam Freeland had a Rage song on his EM. Killing in the Name. i don't think any trance artist would ever cover any EDM track. i don't know if that says anything about both worlds. |
