I picked up my MK2s for a little less than $500 for the pair, thats about 270 british pounds. I haven't had any problems with them so far.

So the fact that they outlast any other dj turntable does not count for anything?

of course it does. but the simple fact of the matter is that there are better turntables which allow you to do more. i prefer using the vestax because they allow me to do more with my music, and don't limit what i can play. i don't give a if my decks are going to be there in 20 years, i care about what they do now. in fact, why would i still want the same boring deck in 20 years? that would be my scenario if i bought techs :p vestax are of a high enough quality build that they will last for years either way.

i don't see why technics can't include something simple such as an ultrapitch function (that is any use, unlike the m5g) or a WORKING brake adjust (a start adjust would be nice too) that you can use on the fly, and hold the deck at the same price. then i would be happy.

But, I guess I should just say to trancespeeder, pick one:

Vestax PDX 2000
Technics SL1200/1210mk2/m3d/mk5/m5g
Numark TTX-1/TT-500
Stanton ST-150 (eh... maybe not)

ALL OF THOSE WILL DO YOU GOOD! NONE OF THEM ARE BAD DECKS!

just to add:

Vestax PDX 2000/2300/2000mk2/2300mk2/2000mk2pro/2300mk2pro :p
Technics SL1200/1210mk2/m3d/mk5/m5g
Numark TTX-1/TT-500
Stanton ST-150 (eh... maybe not)
