Hey, thanks for answering some of my n00bish questions about Reason.

I'm so glad I switched over. Using ejay to produce original samples was like trying to hammer a nail with a spoon.

looks like somone is handy on the keyboard ;)

gotta get myself a midi keyboard, far easier to produce some quality melodies.

As far as the tune, the melodies are nice but its defo not my style, its a wierd one. I wouldnt really call this trance... more like a soundtrack for somthing.

Nice strings and sounds but with a little work on the drums and perc, more trancy sounds it cud be a belter!
H3lix
thanks, but I didn't use a keyboard. I mapped it all out like I used to do on ejay.

I like defo because it gets stuck in your head.

yeah, I think the drums could be a little better, specifically the kick.

and it probably will be a soundtrack for something ;)

The intro is simply awesome but unfortunately when it gets to the trancey bit all the synths sound way too plastic. Sounds almost like a tracker track from some demo.

If I were you I'd chuck the main part completely out the window and make it a full piano/strings piece, because the intro is just too beautiful...

Edit:
Actually, I've got an idea... I'll PM you in a bit.

nice start but i would put some delay on the piano, melodie could be better so the sound of it too :P overall not bad :P but keep on tring :)
H3lix
I have an ambient mix that is purely strings and piano
I'll post it once I get back to my comp...

thanks!

its my first reason track, so i'm a little n00bish with the controls and stuff. thanks for the tips
anyway, I've had this melody stuck in my head for about 5 years. I'm glad I could finally get it out

I was listening to it and a lot of professional trance today and I found that some of my filtering and mixing was just plain terrible.

could anyone suggest some tutorials that can help give me some idea of what the hell I'm doing?
