how ya doin??

tell me about it.. didn't realize there was so much comotion about ultra

didn't know space had a party of there own going on as well

is space fest planning on being the same week as wmc??

i dont think spacefest will be as huge a success as they hope either... ultra has an established name in the scene already so it would be hard for spacefest to compete with that, but whatever... depening on IF this happens, when, where and the LINE UP, I would possibly do both!

Good weather & outdoor festivals= THE :toocool:

Paul is contracted by Space meaning he cannot spin at Ultra if he is still under that contract...if Space is throwing Spacefest that means any DJs who are contracted by Space will not be able to spin elsewhere....OMFG wtf?

well are they at least going to let them spin for more time than Ultra? I honestly think Space will not be able to throw an event like Ultra or close because they strictly stick to progressive and rarely trance...so how do they expect to surpass Ultra...and I'm sure as hell Spacefest will most likely be 18+.

As much as I follow trance and all I think the event has to be versatile.

all in all, I know this is not going to fall through...all this talk and speculation and blah blah is a bunch of BS...when the events come you'll see Paul at both events and if not then at Ultra only.

Space will not be able to do what Ultra has done for 7 years.

:wtf:

i dont think you guys are getting the overall premise of spacefest...they are not trying to BE ultra, and i dont think that approach would be wise anyways....they are simply giving you(& me) and alternative to ultra....that being longer dj set times, maybe more affordable ticket prices, smaller crowds, different djs, setup and event concept.....fundamentally i think the only thing they will have in common is that they will be outdoor edm festivals, imho...who knows, lets just stay tuned...

Hit the nail on the head, why the hell cant space have an event mid year? I cant take off for two weekends in a row to go to spacefest and ultra so why cant space stop trying to butt heads with ultra and have their event at a diffrent time so people wont have to choose which one to go to. Also the contract that a DJ has to sign with space is , they should be able to play when ever and where ever they plaese. Why the hell do people forget about bringing the masses together for a bad ass show where people can have a good time and not try to make people pick sides. Oh well I will still be at ULTRA this year so see you guys there!:toothless

Not to defend either, but there's really not that many weeks that are available for this sort of thing. Mid-year? Like June? That would be insanely hot. There were some incidents of heat exhaustion last time at Ultra, I can't imagine how many there would be in 90+ degree weather (health note - drinking beer instead of pure water is a fantastic way to hurry heat exhaustion along). You could have Spacefest in October or November, but there's also the Spring Break factor at work. An Oct-Nov date is in the middle of the fall semester and would reduce people's ability to attend.

As for which to attend, I'm waiting to see the lineups finalize. Armin's the one major DJ I haven't seen spin live yet, so he's my priority.

no offense, but who gives a , there is plenty of djs to go around for both events, not to mention, if you miss one, there is a solid chance you can catch them at a club sometime during the wmc regardless...plus if spacefest does indeed happen, and does say take away a pvd and tiesto, that just gives another dj like say a carl cox(who hasnt been at ultra since #4), or marco v to take a mainstage slot and get there chance to shine...you guys are being very shortsighted.......
