Unsuspend Vivid Boy Petition and Discussion

This suspension of Vivid Boy is totally wrong. The primary reason is that the suspension of Vivid Boy sets a chilling example that will stifle freedom of expression on this board.
Some things, like threats of bodily harm and stalking obviously call for a suspension. Vivid's comments never rose to that level. Vivid Boy's behavior whilst offensive to a few, were very harmless. Anyone that takes seriously any comments in COR, or any other forum for that matter, may need a psychological evaluation.
I enjoy the freedom of expression in this board but am really bothered by this. There may be a line that cannot be crossed, but that line was not crossed. And if there is a clear line, then mods should post a thread and make it a sticky so that everyone clearly understands what is and what is not acceptable in COR. Then TAs can choose to follow or not follow the rules and beare the consequences, if any.
Its time that TAs stood up to what appears to some to be a totalitarian and arbitrary exercise of suspension and thread-closing power. TA participation makes COR and TA what it is, NOT mods. Stifle TAs and you stifle COR, all forums, and TA itself.
As So Goes Vivid Boy, So Goes Tranceaddict

They Banned Him Again (Vivid, that is..)
If the mods (tu_face in particular) believe that this thread will have no influence over his suspension, then they should let this discussion and petition thread stay open. What harm will it do? |

Who cares? Has that banning affected the forums in the least?
No. |

While I don't think this thread will make much of a difference, I do think he should be unbanned. He's only winding people up because he knows people fall for it. Cracks me up no end. :p
Oh, and

| Ya think the guy would learn afta so many suspensions, i read all those pages and found immaturity in his posts, he's in his 20's and acting like this, one of the most immature ppl i've read. Im sorry but he does deserve this, LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Wake up call: the forums are for entertainment.
Bottom line: Vivid is entertaining.
This suspension was not only out of line, it was grossly and blatantly so, and whomever is responsible ought to have their mod privileges revoked because they quite clearly have no concept of how to perform their duties even adequately, much less well.
I'm not going to even bother asking the mods for a logical basis for their decisions any longer, as it's becoming increasingly clear that neither logic, nor reason, nor anything that can properly be called judgment has anything to do with their decisions as of late. |

firstly, i will make it clear that i did not ban him (that one is for the idiots who draw conclusions after i post in a thread regarding a suspension, you know who you are.)
now let me also make it clear, vivid boy was not banned for that one particuar thread, but for many posts of a stupid nature that offend some people. these things built up, and yes you would have expected vivid boy to have learnt by now.
you are correct, this thread will make ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE TO THE MODERATOR'S ORIGINAL DESCISION, nor will any 'petition' make a difference to the removal of any suspension, for any user, regardless of the reasons.
now i am going to close this thread. as i have said before, the way we moderate these forums is NOT open for discussion with you, the users (and particularly ones who have only been here for a few months and think they are the ing daddy).
 |
