How do I get rid of the 2 sec gap when splitting up my tracks?
View this Thread in Original format
Dj Ping
I used soundforge to split the tracks, Nero to burn the CD's and I have the settings set to 0 sec gaps and I've also set it to disc-at-once but you can still hear a glitch between tracks. It was suggested that it was my CD Burner but I use to use another program to split the tracks and was using the same burner and it worked, if I remembered the name of that program my problems would be solved =)

HELP!!!! I need to get my CD's out soon.
Dj Ping
I found out what the problem is but don't know the solution, sound forge is adding a silence to the end of each track when I save it. Anyone know how I can get rid of it?

Ever tried looking in those very usefull menus called 'Options' and 'Help'?

You might find the answer to your problem in there.

By using a cue file instead ;)

Thanks pumaz, for some reason it only does it when you save it as mp3.

First, you got my name wrong.

Second: I was only trying to help you. An attitude like yours does generally not make friends out here.

I don't know if the answer to your question is or is not in the help-files but a lot of people forget to look in there when they have a problem.

Smartass...

I had the same problem before. Each software has a different procedure for doing it. With mine you set your track index points first. then you go through a bunch of options that basically splits up the 1 long track (your whole set) into individual files.

So if you have 12 songs in you set you would now have 12 seperate files that are then saved to your hard drive.

Then when you use the CD burning software, you actually burn the 12 seperate files to the CD instead of the one long file.

Yes, do use the 'disc-at-once'.

Do a google seach for your software in particular, you should find it.

Hope this helps

Use .cue file it's soo much easier then manually splitting it. Here is the tutorial. Use the technique Matrix describes on the first page.

I know exactly what you mean, this is the procedure i used to take before i found out cueing.

With Soundforge, don't even touch the track, let the mix be on big file. With Nero you have the option to CUE the tracks at whatever intervals. Then you select the 0 sec gap.

all done.

this is a limitation of the mp3 standard, mp3s arent gapless there will (almost) always be a small amount of silence at the end of the track. try using something like ogg

I have cool edit pro and I can make CD's with seamless transitions beetween tracks. There's gotta be a way you can do it with Soundforge.
