It is a form of protest though - as violent and horrific as it is. And many of the insurgents are not terrorizing civilians, they are actually fighting the US army. You are so used to thinking they all have knack for choping heads off. There would be WAAAAAAAY more beheadings and execution style murders on civilians and aid workers if all those insurgents were "terrorists"

I HAVE IRAQI FRIENDS!!! one guy i knew even made a docuemtary there this summer at his old house. He was in fallujah... and guess what.. those US soldiers think they are in a ing video game. Shooting kids, women and children. ITs never mediated by AMerican news corps becuase it will incite a post-vietnam atmosphere the government fears. I will take his expereince and FOOTAGE ive seen with my own eyes over anyone elses . I have an armenian friend whose gradnparents are stuck in the outskirts of Baghdad...theyve lost contact with them becuase the AMericans blew out the telephone stations.

Hmmmm the French seem to be doing whatever they want in the Ivory Coast, and other African areas...they've just destroyed the country's air force...lost of civilians killed...what...no mention of any of that?
Of course not...just as someone mentioned in the political forum...if it's not Israel or United States nobody cares...

If you are concerned or passionate about the rebels in the Ivory coast.. make a thread.. dont expect the "4 other people" to make it becuase its somehow thier duty to level the amount of coverage withthis particular conflict. |

You make it sound like the whole country is shiving in back corner of their houses because of the Americans.
Its the hostage-taking terrorists and bombmaking insurgents that strike fear into the hearts of the civilians; not the Americans.
If anything, Americans are trying to keep the country together.
There is great infighting between political/racial parties right now, especially between the Sunis (that used to make up the government under the Saddam regime but only represents a minority percentage of the people.) and the once repressed Kurds and Shi'ites.
It is the Sunis right now that are the biggest issue and cause of terror in Iraq.
The country is on the virge of civil war that was caused by the power vaccuum left by Saddam... |
