Speaking of Bush and chimps, even the North Koreans were at it...this was actually broadcast on national North Korean TV, so you know how much they love him...long live Pyongyang :D

Note: If this has been posted already, I apologize...but posting it a second time, if that is indeed the case, won't kill anyone...so click here if interested.

Kim is whack. Apparently one of his favourite ways to spend a leisurely afternoon when not mumbling threats about their nuclear ambitions is watching old american western flicks!! :stongue:

Information about the protests beginning tomorrow..
looks like there are planned protest for every single pit stop Bush is making here.. AWESOME! :D
from his arrival at the Ottawa airport to his breakfast the next morning.

I am doing the 5pm Parliament Hill candle vigil and then following the herd to the musuem of civilization where he is having dinner.

No to BUSH

hahahahaha Bronze, comme toujours dans le champ :tongue2

But I have to say your posts are always enjoyable to read...as for the content of your post, I'll remind you that we live in a democracy and thus, ipso-facto, have the right, nay an obligation, to voice our opinions...Political change occurs through various means, including protesting, so although joining a political party to affect change is one alternative, it is most definitely not the only one...in fact, since democracy is supposed to represent the will of the people, what better way for the people to express their will than through peaceful dissent, especially against war mongers like Bush...So please, quit posting self-righteous bull about being disrespectful because we protest...It is our DUTY, as citizens of a democratic country, to voice our opinions.

Furthermore, you really need to stop making ignorant assumptions about protesters that are completely baseless and unfounded...I assure you that most if not all people who protest are either blue-collar workers, students, conscientious objecters against the war, academic intellectuals or just your average enlightened citizen...

Finally, I would have thought that an upstanding citizen like yourself, trumpeting the virtues of regime change in Iraq for the sake of democracy and freedom of expression would be for a healthy display of democracy and freedom of expression in his own country...I am sadly mistaken

You know Bronze.. I am a big believer in one's right to express their opinion, and for the most part that's why I don't bother commenting on your posts.. but seriously.. are you really THIS dense??

first of all, I'd love to partake in the noon rally on parliament hill, but I will be at work.. hence, going to the protests 'afterwards.'
Anyway, point being, I agree with Epicurus, your posts are a bit hypocritical.

And for the record, I don't think *that* many protestors honestly feel that by participating in this protest we are directly changing any policy here, either in our own country or the US. It's not going to stop the war mongering (watch out Iran!!) or lift the restrictions on our cattle still in place at the border.

I do, however, feel a very strong conviction about the Bush administration and by doing nothing I am basically 'accepting' the status quo.
I am confident and hopeful this will be a peaceful protest..... all 12 of them planned.. hehe :)
