WASHINGTON -- Several lobbying camps from different industries and ideologies are joining forces to fight an overhaul of copyright law, which they say would radically shift in favor of Hollywood and the record companies and which Congress might try to push through during a lame-duck session that begins this week.

Now that will certainly be a good thing. Finally, we will not have to worry about getting away with 'fair use' anymore! *phew* [note teh sarcasm]

Its amazing that they are still at it. I think all this hassle is quite futile to be honest. If I want something pirated there is no way of stopping me to pirate it in this world so big. These piracy laws will scare off some "mainstream" sites based in North America but take up sites like Suprnova.org in the backwaters of Slovenia and you find a haven for piracy. Its a neverending story!

I don't favor it.

This months wired' contained some interesting articles on the issue.

They had one article written even by Hilary Rosen arguing the case from the Creative Commons.

I belief you can probably find some stuff at www.wired.com/wired if your interested...

Hilary's article was a good one the rest where a bit lacking.

neat article. Seems that she isn't as dull as I had previously assumed.

Nonetheless, I think that the new RIAA/ MPAA people still do not get 'it'. Maybe she can have a word with them?

I like this analogy: When you spray weed killer on a group of various weeds, the one that survives will grow stronger and flourish.

They more they push, the further underground people will go, and the harder it will be to stop them.

Who wants a TA WASTE network?
