my sleepy review:
Well our night started out early at Fat Tuesdays getting rocked on 190 Octane and such, and then me, Kasper, danny, wally, ian, candi, and emily went to some restaurant for dinner. Just as i suspected, i could not find one thing on the menu that i liked, but i ended up getting filet mignon and it was ok. we had a few more drinks there and then we piled into ian's car and headed to Fluid. we probably looked like a clown car, all 7 of us getting out. There werent that many people when we got there, but i met a few TAs.... pvdfanatic, and the guy in the new york hoodie whose name i dont remember and your friend whose name i also dont remember... and assorted other TAs (ok, basically i dont remember much at all from that point on, sorry guys, lol). the night got a little drunk for all of us b/c of the $2 drinks at the bar and shots. you'll see from the pictures the progression of drunkness as the night goes on, lol. some of them were so bad i didnt even post them.
Had a chance to meet Mark Pappas before his set, very cool guy, and you had an awesome opening set, it really put me in the mood. The place started to fill up and the energy in there was awesome, no one in the main room was really standing around, everyone was dancing and having a blast. During mark's set, i noticed Markus at the bar so I went up and introduced myself and chatted with him for awhile, had some more drinks and then went in for his set. PHENOMENAL! i couldnt id any tracks, but the set was really awesome, comparably good to the set i heard him do in miami over the summer, which was one of my favorite dj sets of the whole year. he was totally into the crowd, and as you will see from the videos, it adds so much to the vibe to see a dj loving what he does.... he was having a ing blast up there.
Fluid was great... i had a chance to meet so many people, anyone could just walk right up to the dj booth. I went up towards the end and asked markus to play his remix of Satellite, and he played it as one of his last songs of the night, before he did a little encore. i was so happy :)
afterwards, we went to lorenzos for some late-night pizza b/c i was starving, and then headed over to emerald city for the afterparty, which was boring. but markus came over to chill and i talked to him for awhile, he said he had to get back to miami and we hung out for a bit listening to someone from Ovum and then walked back to south street to get my car to take wally home.
danny: glad you decided to come, it was fun to party in philly again
kasper: my longest oldest party buddy... the good times never end
jonathan and amanda: so glad you guys made it out. you didnt miss anything at the afterparty
ian: i hate that i'm nice to you when i'm drunk ;)
wally: man, i thought i was obliterated, but the pics you took with my camera indicate you were worse off than me, lol. i think it was that last shot of vodka that finally did it. thanks for letting us crash (and forgetting to wake me up this morning!!)
mark pappas: nice meeting you and awesome set!
candi and emily: i had fun with you guys!
pvdfanatic: cool meeting you -- good times!!
all the other TAs i met whose names i cant remember: had fun dancing with you guys, hope to see you at a few more parties!
OK... i thought i had time to post the pics, but i have to be at a bar meeting in 10 minutes, so i'll post the pics and vids as soon as i get back in an hour or 2.

amazing night..i had a blast...markus destroyed it..nice meeting everyone even though i was a trainwreck by the end of the night...just say no!
cant wait for next month...now i just have to figure out a guest...oh and we recorded the entire night!!!! ill post pics later |
