The melody kinda sounds like Masters and Nickson - Out There. Too generic for my liking.

Yeah, the second sample is sounding like the track is getting somewhere good. Since it is only a 1:40 sample so far, can't really comment on too much. Liking the kick and the bassline. Good start on the melodic ideas. Hope it will continue progressing very nicely, with some new hooks/melodies. Now, not sure if you are planning of keeping the structure of the begining of the track as is, but for now it is not the most dj friendly structure: maybe start fading in the bassline slowly at about 16 bars, than at 32 bars (or 52-55 seconds) just about, have a 1 or 2 second kick break and than launch the kick again with the full main bassline; this will permit a nice clean track transition in a mix. And than maybe introduce that initial melody like at 8 or 16 bars after that (in other words at 40 or 48 bars). I am sure you understand what I am talking about here.
It does have a little bit of that Rob Nickson style to it, and I think that is a great thing, as he is one of my favorite producers. Really want to hear the final product of this tune.
Keep it up man.:toocool: |
