he he, this is pretty funny. but in the end i think martin was right, well in terms of having to keep an "image" and respectful relationship with the US.
but i didnt even know she was in the Mississauga-erindale riding, which is funny cause i just remembered that she lived two doors down from my buddy, lol |

She wasn't kicked out for being anti-American. If that were the case, she would have been diciplined months ago.
What she did was criticize Martin directly.
| quote: | "If he loses the next election and he has to resign, I wouldn't shed a tear over it," Parrish said Wednesday in an interview with The Canadian Press.
"I have absolutely no loyalty to this team -- none." |
The message: it's ok to criticize the US, but if you criticize Herr Martin, you're out the same day. |

She made several comments overs the years about the US, yet she wasn't even given a slap on the wrist.
The minute she said something about Herr Martin, she was dropped.
She said so herself today:

In fact, her anti-American comments are official Lieberal Party policy.
We need a government that's a good friend and ally of the US AND stands up for Canada when we have to. The best way to get a government like that is to vote the Lieberals out. |

if she says herself she has no loyalty to her own party of course she should be canned.
i don't understand, why the outrage shadowolf? |

| Her side of the story will be aired tonight....But she took her hatred against bush to a new level by poking dolls eyes with a pencil :whip: |

What I mean to say is that she wasn't fired for her anti-American comments, as the media is reporting. If that were the case, she would have been fired, or at least diciplined, months ago.
In point of fact, she was fired for her anti-Martin comments. |

that's nothing more than your opinion...and "Herr Martin"? WTF are you talking about? Are you implying that he runs the Liberal party as a fascist dictator? That's laughable and extraordinarily ignorant on your part. The fact that he DID NOT discipline her over the years is PROOF of his leniency.
She's an adult...she should know better. He gave her every opportunity to settle down by not singling her out and by sticking to making general statements that it was inappropriate for party members to be publicly critical...but she repeatedly opened her fat, ignorant, tactless mouth. He canned her. She deserved it.
Insubordination is grounds for IMMEDIATE dismissal from any employer. Why should that be different here?
This is nothing more than another (illegitimate) excuse for you to bash Martin...pathetic
The Bush visit likely has much to do with it. How embarassed would you be if you sat down with another head of state who said "hey, that MP of yours has quite a mouth. I wasn't surprised to hear here talk about us, but you let her talk about you that way in the press too?".
It's completely unacceptable. |

Thanks for proving my point. He didn't do a single thing to dicipline her in the past, but as soon as she attacked Martin, she was fired the same day.

The people are crying out for more democracy, but Herr Martin will do anything to keep power in his own hands. Disgusting. |

Actually her comments against her boss were out of line as they would be in a private company. Im against her ousting if it were about Bush however because as an MP she should be evaluated in that respect by her constiuents at election time. But i support her being kicked out for critisizing her boss.
If she really had a problem with Martin she should have withdrawn from the Liberal party and sat as an independent and then made these commentaries. To critisize the leader of the party (her boss) is a pretty stupid thing to do while she is still employed by that party.
I see disrespect for authority all the time. It's quite sad actually. People aren't taught respect anymore. |

But her comments about Bush were fully disrespectful as well.
As much as we hate it, Canadian US relations are important. We can't have our MPs stomping on Bush dolls and calling Americans ignorant bastards all the time. |
