A flaw of the events forum

I have a suggestion about the event forum.

The one good thing that was good about the Master List was that everytime there was an event added, you'd get an email notification.

I find it takes a lot more time to have to read the whole list everytime you want to see if there's a new event.

Is there any way to get an email for everytime the forum is updated?

good idea :D

So, what's the flaw?

Something like this may be implemented into a mailing list - but - individual mailouts upon creation of a new thread seems a bit much. If you want to see what new events have been added since you were last logged in then just look for the blue arrows (if any) - just like you'd look for that when checking for new threads.

The flaw is that it doesn't notify you by email like the Master List did. ;)

 the Master List is like any other thread in that it would notify you by email upon a reply - and afaik - lots of times those were not replies about new events, but merely comments on events already on the list.

Maybe you could just enable sorting by last post; I know it's set up the way it is to stop people from bumping/spamming, but lots of times some of us *want* to see which events are (a) new or (b) being talked about a lot.

way to much clutter....tranceaddict, always gives me like 50 unread messages as it is...don't need to increase that to 100+ for stuff that may not even interest me...i don't mind taking a scroll to see whats new when i'm in the mood to parte!!!

That defeats the whole purpose of rewriting that section specifically to see parties chronologically - which is what matters most - when you want to find something to do on a certain day.

Not everyone is a post whore like u ;)

I'm not saying to change the default, that should definitely be left chronologically - just to allow people to sort by last post if they want to. As long as people stick to the formatting rules and the first thing you see in that forum is a chronological list, why the necessity to disable all other sorts?

I think this is a legitimate concern, don't you?
