Do you ever get that feeling that people are watching you from the corner, and you feel that person's prescence from behind you without turning your back? You know that person is watching you, so you don't turn around.
The "supposed" system administrator dude of the computer lab at my school looks like a freakin' goober to me .. it seems everytime i am on, he gives me this weird look.. i go in the lab, and do my stuff .. browse, email, etc ... i also run some telnet and ftp stuff between the school's computer and my other storage sites, and read my other email account using program.
well, it seems like the sys admin dude keeps looking over my shoulder to see what i am doing, because he is reading my packets .. he has this freaked out look i am going to release some kind of vicious virus throughout the lab or something.. i was going to tell him .. "dude .. you don't have to monitor my ass.. i am not doing anything bad."
does anyone have the sys admins closely watching you when you go to the computer lab in your school? is that taking away my right of privacy on the computer.. i rarely go on the computer nowadays .. i used to go often to check my stuff, but now i just do my web stuff at home..
then again, the guy does look gay .. maybe he was checking me out.. :nervous: :nervous: |

no... but when i try to use trillian or IM i get emails a few days later saying they will reformat my computer if i dont remove certain types of applications from my computer. that's ty.
i get freaked out whenever my trailer door opens. usually cause i am playing flashgames. it's to the point now where if i am checking email, messageboards, or fantasy football, i dont even hit alt+tab when someone comes to talk to me. |

| yeah i know that feeling, thoose computer supervisors are a strange kind of people. I remember when i was like 14 years old or so, i had a system admin after me whereever i went in that school. And i didnt do a except play some quake. |

cool.. you play fantasy football.. which one do you use?
i am on espn.. fantasy football is addictive for me .. i have been doing that with espn so far for 6 years so far ... made the top 100 twice .. so close to make it to the top 50.. |

we have a league of about 10 people on yahoo. it's cool cause i got to know some people at work better cause of it. of course, i was kind of biased in selecting players so i've got 4 on philadelphia. fortunately, mcnabb is one of them. |

| in high school our login security was real high tech. the little novell box came up on the screen and you had a choice...you could either enter in your id and password to get access or you could click the "x" in the corner and get passed it. it was a tough choice on what to do. |

Reminds me of my school comps.. but they were Macintosh and ran AtEase... so0o0o easy to bypass |

| who remembers that old program Surfwatch.. hahahaha .. those old Windows 95/98 days when programs were setup in the batch files (.bat), and you can turn off the Surfwatch filter in the autoexec.bat . hahahahha.... that was easy back then.. |

Heh I work at a computer lab in my school. That is where I usualy do all my posting from actualy :). I'm really glad TA doesnt have porn and scantly clad females over it nearly as much as it used to, cuz I'm safe to look at it almost anywhere now.
Im not nearly as much as a hardass as that dude sounds tho, I usualy just do my own thing while im in there and leave everyone alone. They told me to make sure nobody brings any food or drinks in there and to keep ppl from stealing things, So all I really have to do is look at people once when they come in and once when they come out :). I usualy only bother doing that when somebody is doing something really obnoxious tho, if they look like they are trying to hide their I just pretend I don't see them.
Being a computer lab admin is soooo friggin awesome, u just sit in front of a computer getting all your homework done while waiting for something to go wrong. |

Reminds me of the fun two of my friends and I had...
We started using proxies on our sites and stuff, so they banned our websites (now all of the popular programs block us, yay!). I got caught by the librarian, who told me to stop, otherwise I'd be in trouble, and that my account was being closely monitored.
Last year, two of my friends had a nice chat with the principal, a counselor, and two district network administrators. What they did was dug into the network and found a bunch of security holes, administrator username/passwords, etc. and posted them online. The district pulled a big brother and showed them screenshots and videos of them doing it, and had even printed out a stack of papers from the website and forums we published it on.
So we have a reason for having our accounts monitored, I guess. Good times. :p |

hahaha .. had the same job when i in college .. woo hoo .. work study rocked, because it was so lenient with work hours, and the job was sooo easy .. even though i saw the drinks and food in the lab, i was too lazy to tell them to get out .. i got in trouble with that with the boss, because she wanted me to be a tough ass about that rule.. hahaha .. when i would work on the weekends, and there usually were no students except the dorm students, i would pull pranks such as switching mouses or keyboards.. funny stuff there ..
but there was always the bad stuff with the job, such as jammed floppy drives, hung apps, and bad printer connections .. sucked .. oh well .. all jobs have their bright and dull spots..
the reason why i am ranting about this weird guy is that i had the same job as him, and i wasn't f'n paranoid like he is.. or then again he could be checking me out, but that's another story .. i guess i am laid back, and not much anal repulsive. |
