Try removing your msn passport from your machine and reboot.
** I'm assuming you use Windows XP
Here are instructions on how to remove it: Source
For users of stand-alone or workgroup computers:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Note: If you are using the Classic start menu, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel
2. Click User Accounts.
3. Click your user account.
4. Under Related Tasks, click Manage my network passwords.
5. Click the user account that you want to remove in the Stored User Names and Passwords box, and then click Remove.
6. Click OK to confirm that you want to remove this user.
7. Click Close |

Don't suggest that to Richard... he'll either get stuck at #1 or something up major.
Rich, just download FireFox and don't bother with Internet Explorer... simple. That should take care of it. |

| If you are adventurous, get HijackThis. Be warned that this does not just show the 'bad stuff'. Google the names you don't know. |

dont go as far as buying a new PC if u took ^^^ advice seriosuly..LOL...save yrself some dollars and ask for more help here...I suffered from a similar situation cpl weeks ago...My browser was hijacked by a worm called 'coolsearch'...what that does is takes u to their site which is coolsearch.biz instead of a simple 'page cannot be displayed....I used adaware, cwshredder, spybot and one more proggy but nothing worked....even took the risk of manaully getting rid of evrything that had any similarity to it in registry, but it kept coming back...lastly i tried using hijack this to enable logging and there was just too much crap in the log...
End result..backed up the files, destroyed the OS partition, reinstalled new OS in 10-15 mins and got it over with...Moral of the story is, it might be easier to just kill the partition and reload windows if u want to get over with the worm perm...Otherwise for the time being try using a diff browser and do post here with updates... I am sure alot of of ppl here will try their best to sort it out for ya
good luck |
