Man I was really looking forward to seeing Pete spin, but I just wasn't into his set, wasn't feeling it. Some good tracks, BUT way too inconsistent; he didn't keep the energy going at all.:(
It wasn't until Kristina came back on that the energy picked right back up!!;)

I thought Pete's set showed his versatility and he had great track selection. When he came on taking over for Sky it was a little hard for 12AM so he brought it back down without being abrupt and then he slowly started bringing it back up. That was his plan it worked great. By the middle and end of his set he had most of the people up on their feet and dancing. His last few tracks were banging and he set it up nicely for Sky and they finished off the night fine. Pete passed out a few promo CDs and I heard it on my ride home to OC from j00f and it's a real solid promo CD. Some of the TAs It alked to were real impressed with his set and he left no doubt in our minds that he can mix.

this seriously effects a headlining DJ, i wish people would understand they are opening for someone else...

this has been a problem at heaven since they have started, why do you think everyone leaves half way into a headliners set?

Yeah, we may have been playing a little hard, but the Heaven crowd doesn't respond to slower more progressive stuff. Plus, how would you even know if this is a problem since the only time you come is when you play. And isn't this the same Anthony Ross that opened with MKS-Illuminate when it had just come out?

Zombie0729
constructive criticism brian, i'm not personally attacking you, but i appreciate you attacking me. I don't even own MKS - Illuminate. What I am saying is that I have got emails from DJ's in the past who I have got booked there(whether i was able to go or not) asking why the night gets peaked so early. You are getting the crowd going well before the headliner goes on which has two problems.

1.) they crowd gets tired earlier in the night and they leave which is during the headliners set
2.) the headliner is forced to keep going harder but how can they do it if they have a 3 or 4hr set? thats why most stop your set and start fresh; which if they actually pitch it down kills them. People go back to drinking and talking and the headliner looks like crap because the opener wanted the glory for the night
Orbital32
For that night i have to say there was exception. There was nobody there. For parts of the time there was basically just TA's on the floor. With no energy from the crowd to feed off, all was left was the music. slower music with a small crowd = going up stairs to the balcony.
