lol so true :)

what makes someone the worst producer/remixer?
a&b seem to lack originality, but if they do something totally different ppl will bitch on that fact that it doesnt sound like a&b. so it seems like you can't do right after you've been succesful. or is it just too hard to achieve something better, because ppl expect you to do even better? hmm i better stop before i confuse myself:p let's just talk about taste.

i think armin van buuren disappointed me the most, because he didnt do much:p

it works for some
Jark Prongo is the first case that comes to mind
i guess you could say that with Pig and dan sometimes, though they dont change that far and fast as jark prongo..

oh, and im willing bet money that of all the producers 75% each of you bitch on and on about, you probly own their records, download their mp3s and sit in chat rooms during asot/etc spouting off CHOOOON the first 3 times you hear it. why is being bitchy cool? :p

I am with you on this.. and its totally true.. :) But then again.. I wanna see some of you haters make a track. make somethin that sounds great and that some of your favorite djs would play. Producers like Chable, Probspot, A&B, Ferry, Tiesto.. They all have somethin we can tell is their production.. and some of their productions we love and some just sound almost the same.. but they are doing it.. and its the creativity that does this work.. and hard work ofcourse and sometimes its even nothing but having fun with the track.. Stop bitchin and moanin and enjoy the music... I myself dont like Tiesto as a dj.. and I have heard from some very relyable sources that he doesnt produce his own tracks.. but who cares.. he has gotten to where he is and i have to respect that. People tell me I am a hater... just cuz i talk about him as a dj sometimes.. what can I say he sucks.. but he is who he is and been voted #1 dj in the world 2 years in a row.. but its our opinions and its all it is :)... hehe and for me Trance has died.. i aint gonna say TRANCE sucks just cuz i cant enjoy it anymore.. But i see much more creativity nowdays in Proggy than any other genre.. (waits for some haters... ) haha

what does owning records have anything to do with how certan people produced in 2004.

if they suck enough to you to whine about it -
you are then either a. stupid for paying money for something you dont like, or b. a giant hypocrite, cause you just bitch for bitchings sake.
n0bben-
this is the evidence that trance in general is losing it's umph .. because the "best producers" thread only has 6 pages and this has 12 :p

or maybe we're just a bunch of whiners .. or maybe both .. who knows
paranoik0
such a negative thread :p

let me give my opinion on some

Max Graham - i have to agree that Max went downhill this year. Coastline was good and the remixes of Do What you Want were listenable, but he seems to be moving away from his own trademark sound that i loved into the trademark gdjb sound :\

Perry O'Neil - he's quite hit and miss imo. I really liked Fuel and Cold Fusion, enough at least to go out and buy the vinyl. At the start of the year Kubik was a very solid track too. However Wave Force sounded like an horrid pop song to me.

Vadim Zhukov - i really liked Exit the first time i heard it, however i understand perfectly why people don't like him, once again he's stuck a bit on the trademark ASOT sound, but i'll rate him a bit higher than some.

Leama & Moor - i have to agree, another producers that suddenly became standart. Very far from tracks such as Melodica, Requiem For a Dream and the remix of Little Wonder - Eclipse. I liked the Brian Eno remix, but it already showed the direction they were starting to get into.

Laushinamee mentioned... James Holden?! Are you insane? :p Personally i thought Holden had a brilliant year. His remixes of Avus - Fancy Arse, Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink and System 7 - Lost Planet were absolutelly spot on, while being very diverse. Plus he made Britney sound good, and prepares the release of Come To Me, a track that somehow isn't very popular, but that i absolutely love.

The only Markus Schulz record I own is Solar Myth (breaks mix). That was totally different than the 'beeps and bouncy ball' sound he rapped his arms around in all his 2004 productions.

I do own an Ending ( Leame & Moor Remix), but everything else they had done this year is poor.

As for everyone else in my list of 2004 I don't own any of their material.

It’s not bitching, it’s expressing your personal opinion on what you like and dislike. In some cases persuasion transforms personal opinion into a debate of reasoning.

thats my point, how can you even call someone the worst of year and own anything from them, while owning nothing from what has to be thousands of other producers.
regardless of wether someone is making your style or not anymore, you honestly believe that leama and moore is higher on a list of bad producers than some fool in his folks basement, creating happy hard core?
Even if this list was only about ppl making majority or sole living on production/etc, there are sooo many truely horrible ppl out there, appears very lame to me to try and bag on someone with actual talent and skill as 'bad' simply cause their style is not to your choosing anymore..

For that accord i could say that dj shadow is the worst dj of the year cause i dont enjoy turntablism. (which isnt true, i think shadow owns)

well when constructed into an actual argument, sure could happen.

when posting a ton of
1.
2.
3.
thats not very persuasive..
as with it seams every thread these days there are those who care to state a point and put substance behind it, and those that just pop in a list or flame. Im glad ppl like dave stick it out :)

This thread makes me want to throw up.

So many opinions, so little thought.
