That's cool...what does he do? Martial arts wise what does he practice?

Alright I just saw that video....hmmm....these guys are a bit of a joke...if anything they are more acrobats/gymnasts really, but in terms of martial arts they are a joke. How do I know? Don't ask :p

Well, now that I think about it - I dunno, but he has always practised, ever since he was young - he has at least 5 black belts, all in different areas, I will find out more when i talk to him next, just to let you know... He would like me to probably ask more questions, but I am going to his final year party - where he will accept his belt and certificate of completion... woo hoo - he is paying for my tix to go with my datetot he ceremony~! which is nice.. There is this whole wall in my basement of the house i grew up in (in Aurora) that has all hs medals and pictures (of him kickin' ass) :) and certificates there too - you name it it's there! He was a big fighter when he was younger, I think I got that trait from him too! but he is a professional though! he's getting old though 58 I think..:sadgreen: he should stop- soon - he broke soooo many bones over the last year... and I worry for his safety,

GO DAD GO!

anyways - I will let you know what his belts are in at a later date - I am tired from working today

Ciao!

:tongue3

Hehehe that's very cool...but black belt is just the beginning reall they are 9 different "dans" in black belts, so 9 different levels of black belts which is why i was wondering what was he doing? :) That's pretty coo though congrads to your dad

Looks like gymnastics more than martial arts.

I hear that traditional martial arts are not very useful for defending yourself on the street (this from cops, bouncers etc). It looks good in the dojo, but that's about it.

Can you say that about aikido as well?

Or are you thinking of "defending yourself on the street from a gun, ak47, or anything else considered fire weapon"...?

Anything is good in a streetfight situation if you're learning it properly rather than the "north american way - get your backbelt in 1 year" kinda deal...no offence to anyone of course but some of these ads that i see are pretty pathetic...

Jiujitsu is different though it's grappling :) very interesting

I'd agree with crazy serb, if there's an AK47 a few metres away then nothing will help

anyway .. speakin of the video , it's okay , but i found the human matrix video a bit more impressive , has anyone ever seen that btw?

some of the moves these guys are pulling at "Flip City Gymnastics Center" as it says in the video are done by a lot of breakdancers in some videos i've seen at the World's in Germany i think 2 years ago ?

anyways, i think what they're doing is meant more for an entertainment value than anything else
