I think it is a bad thing when there's no claps in a tune!
When I listen to 2004 Remakes of FIRST STRIKE & SENCOND WAVE by SIGNUM, I think it would be better with a clap!!

What do you think about claps?

I don't miss the clap in those tunes, to be honest.

i think claps are good for prog and house music...
in trance clap turns the song a bit "old school"...and I personally like it...
for example: Oliver Lieb uses a lot of claps"!

claps can add a lot of power to the track (for instance Push vs. Globe - Tranceformation)

but at the same time, they can sound out of place, which i think would be the case if there was a clap in First Strike 2004. it would interfere with the techy loops, i think

claps are really important. It gives a lot of groove, otherwise is just pum pum pum

Echano - Tranquility (2004 Rework) and the original.
DjArTiN!
I think Tranquility Base - Razorfish doesnt have any claps. I might be mistaken.

it is more important in a techno track IMO...in a trance track well if the melody is good, i don't miss the clap, i don't pay attention to it.

i didn't even notice the lack of claps in those tunes by signum and i thoroughly enjoyed both tunes. i don't think it matters that much as long as it goes well with the tune.

SIGNUM's remakes are awesom, but with a clap, I'm sure it would sound better! As some person said, claps put a lot of energy in a rythm! they are really important! A lot of tunes don't have a clap...

Hmm...I generally prefer tunes to go without claps. Gives them a bouncier, contrinues feeling I reckon..but then again..I'm a Deep House head
