hi everybody.
so i made up my mind what kind of monitors to get and ill go for the mackies. now comes the question if the hr624 or hr824. its the question of the money just as the question of quality. i know one could say that bigger will always be better, and i can undertand that the 824 is probably better than the 624 but really, do you hear that 200 dollar (or 300 dollar?) a piece difference when your listening to them in your bedroom and having them about 1.5 meters away from your ears? on the other hand, if i get them, i dont want to feel the need that i need something better anytime soon. i need a little help deciding... |

IF I was faced with your dilemma between the 2 speakers, I would get the mackie hr824's .
My reason is that the hr824 cover a broader frequency range. (39hz - 22.2khz). I always like to have some bass in my room. The hr624's frequency range is 52Hz to 20kHz.
I would definetly be able to hear the difference between the 2 speakers. (hr824 and hr624).
As well, I always recommend getting bedroom speakers that have *atleast* an 8" speaker.
My opinion is that if you are going to spend a lot of money on your dj rig (TT's, MIxers, .. etc... dj equipment...), then you should also spend the money to make your dj rig sound good [speaker-wise]. Why spend alot of money on your dj stuff if its not going to sound exceptional to everyone else when you use it. |
