alrite people just looking for some quick help on these monitors!
whats the difference between the Passive and Active?
i would mainly be using these speakers for bedroom DJing/Production and general music listening. i have a decent stereo so i thought its about time i should get some decent speakers to go with it!
Specs can be found for either here:
Alesis Passive
Alesis Active
cheers for any help people |

Passive = no amplification, so you'd require a seperate amplifier.
Active = amplifier is integrated into the speaker/s. |

Active speakers have the amp built in. Passive speakers require an amp.
I have the Alesis active speakers at home and they work fine but I'm sure you can get better ones on the same price range but I'm not the person to be giving that sort of advice.
Cheers

Supposed to be the same speaker other than that as far as I know.

| No - the driver units will be identical. However, if you get the active ones, the amplifiers that are built into the speakers will be perfectly matched to them. If you go for the passive ones, you'll have to make sure that your amplifier is suitable. |

| They're very good for the money - best thing to do is give them a listen beforehand though. |
