That is a really good idea. Aren't you not allowed to have your car engine on for over a minute when you're not in the car there? That doesn't seem like a big deal to Americans, but they strive a lot harder in Germany to keep the air clean. :happy2: |

hmmm, well, i decided that, because i'm really pressed for time on this, and don't feel like doing a huge amount of research, to compare large german festivals to american ones :)
mayday, nature one, love parade, maybe a few others
vs. ultra, SF love parade, maybe a few others
in case anyone cares that is haha  |

In that vein, you could compare and contrast German Oktoberfest to American Oktoberfest. :D
Good luck ;) |

i need help!!! i have a final project for my German class to do, and i need ideas on what to do it on... basically, we can focus on any part of german life/society, and present it anyhow we want. previous projects my professor told us about were: people making posters comparing german beers to american beers (heh, this one sounds easssy), another was a small book comparing american food to german food, and yet another was one guy that put together a video of various german music videos...
i'm thinking something with cars of music, but am not sure what exactly, or how to present it... i'm lazy, so i'd rather not make a video or anything crazy, but maybe like a little booklet or a poster???
any ideas are appreciated!!! |
I'm thinking of Nazis and Hitler. What have you guys done recently outside of bringing East Germans on board when the wall fell? Certainly won't commit troops in a world cause anymore and probably have no more control over the East Germans than the USSR did.
:p

| How about writing about the huge event taking place in Germany between 1933 and 1945? |

Brian Griffin: Yeah, about your pamphlet... uh, I'm not seeing anything about German history between 1939 and 1945. There's just a big gap.
Tour guide: Everyone vas on vacation. On your left is Munich's first city hall, erected in 15...
Brian Griffin: Wait, what are you talking about? Germany invaded Poland in 1939 and...
Tour Guide: We were invited. Punch vas served. Check vit Poland.
Brian Griffin: You can't just ignore those years. Thomas Mann fled to America because of Nazism's stranglehold on Germany.
Tour guide: Nope, nope. He left to manage a Dairy Queen.
Brian Griffin: A Dairy Queen? That's preposterous.
Tour guide: I vill hear no more insinuations about the German people. Nothing bad happened. Sie werden sich hinsetzen. Sie werden ruhig sein. Sie werden nicht beleidigen Deutschland. (You will sit down. You will shut up. You will not insult Germany.)
[throws his hand up in a Hitler salute]
Brian Griffin: ...uh, is that a beer hall?
Tour guide: Oh yes, Munich is renowned for its historic beer halls. |
Exactly what I was thinking of when I posted my comment.
WE WERE ON VACATION! |
