Got my SAT score back (pg. 5)

first time i took mine I was in 7th grade got a 900 i think...sucks
anybody know of any tips or Tricks for the SAT when it really counts? |

how old are u now? and how could u take it in 7th grade? for what purpose? and was it the PSAT, or a practice test?
if u can narrow down the choices to just two, just dont answer the question. if you try a question and know its going to take a longer time to figure out than the others, skip it and come back to it later.
oh, and drink monster or red bull and sleep well. and eat breakfast. and pee beforehand. |

| I took it once and got a 1560. 800 on verbal, 760 on math. I should have done better, but oh well. |

I scored 1540. I don't think the SAT accurately measures intelligence or even knowledge. There are people here who scored significantly lower than I but who are much more knowledgeable AND more intelligent and I've met a couple of people who scored higher who totally don't seem "all there."
I was more worried about the TOEFL because I heard if we (foreigners) do poorly it won't matter how well we perform on the SAT or ACT.

No it was the real SAT. I was surrounded by 18 year olds who were taking it for their first and last time. I took it in 7th grade because they had a program where they were basing the standarized test scores of the previous year on a search to see if there were middle schoolers smart enough to take the test (Stanford 9 Standardized Test of Basic Skills). I had a really high test score, so they classified me as eligible for the SAT. I, being naive and not understanding the importance of the test, did not study and made a low grade. doesn't matter though, it was just to see if we could make a score high enough to compete with high school seniors. I'm 14 now and in the 9th grade. I plan on taking the SAT again as soon as possible to try and get a good score so I can get it over with. |

don't worry if you get a low score.. i went to an excellent private school, took the SATs and only got an 1140 or something like that.. went to a private university for one year, then left because i felt like it was a waste of time.. so i left and started my career.. not to brag but i do very well in "the real world" and did ty on the SATs. lots of colleges here are starting to avoid relying so heavily on the SAT scores nowadays.
don't stress if you bomb it.

Im from the uk and we have SATS, but they are just levels we get, i think 1-5 and are really meant for our teachers.
Its like a teacher assesment...
what are SAT's???
is it like an IQ score or something? |

scholastic assessment test i think they're called now
they're one of the many things needed for entry into our college/university system |
