I have a question. Does anyone have these cd's? I was thinking about buying these, but a guy told me they weren't too great. These are some old albums that Tiesto mixed a while back, I think around 1995 or something. So if anyone knows about these cd's please post some info about them. I want to know if it is good or not before I but them.
Here is the link to the albums on discogs, have a look at the tracklist and tell me what you think.
Lost Treasures - Isle of Ra
Lost Treasures - Concerto for Sonic Circles
Lost Treasures - Creatures of the Deep
Thanks,

| They're really good and show you how trance has progressed and got cheesier and cheesier over the years. They're unique tracks, sort of a cross between techno and hard-trance, and a bit of gabber (Yes, Tiesto spun gabber back in the day). If you're open to new music, I suggest these. They're similar to the Forbidden Paradise series which has been mixed by DJ Blackout, Tiesto, S&M, Misja Helsloot (one more I think). Both series are great. |

i had them a really long time ago, in 99, and tbh, i didnt think they were that great, i found out about them because i listened to the forbidden paradise's mixed by tiesto, so i got those also, but i didnt really like them. i guess it is a matter of preference
btw, forbidden paradise 8 and 9, and i think lost treasure 4 and 5 are mixed by doc fabian. he took over the series after tiesto left basic beat i believe. (to the poster above_) |

i came across island of ra a couple of years ago when i was in amsterdam. i was at a cd shop and i thought it was tiesto, but then i looked at the album again when i got home, and it had another name credited to the mixing. back then i didn't know that tiesto wasn't his real name, so i took it back before i left and got space age 1.0. at the time i thought it was a good trade because i don't remember really like it....
however, this was before i really got into trance. i had just heard tiesto's name thrown out a couple of times when i was in a-dam. in retrospect, i probably should have kept the island of ra since im sure its hard to find. and it probably was pretty good (if i only hadn't been too stoned listening to it after i bought it and had a better appreciation for EDM).
yeah, so to answer your question; i wouldn't spend too much money on them. besides this one was pretty old (1996) and it might not be the same style of music you thought it would be.....just my opinion, hope it helps somewhat. :)
(edit) i looked at you when you signed up (Jan 04) and i don't know how long you have been into trance/EDM, and i would think almost everybody would agree that tiesto today is way different than where he was in 1999,2000,2001,etc. so be careful before you blow a bunch of your dough on a CD you could live with out. i hate doing that (i've be guilty of this a couple of times). |

i know ta doesnt support file sharing, but i dont think these cds are worth buying, from what i remember of them, so just download them and give them a listen. besides, i dont think you can find these albums anywhere anymore, although i know they are listed in the shop here
http://www.dancegrooves.com/cdshop as i bought some cds from their before, not sure if it is still in stock, you might have to email them
just go down to the search and put in , guardian angel for the label and it pulls up a bunch of . it seems they dont have the isle or ra in stock but they have 2 and 3 in stock. 18 euros (each) = like 25 bucks plus a bitchload on shipping, really not worth it if you ask me |

I agree. These CDs are not representative of what Tiesto's style currently is or was just a few years back. To me, at least, Tiesto seems to have gone through 3 style and sound phases. Buy buying these CDs you are introducing yourself to Tijs before anyone really heard of him. I'd at least buy one to see what all the commotion is about. |

They're certainly interesting CDs because it's cool to see how Tiesto has progressed in the last 10 years or so, but I'm not sure if I'd buy them. Actually I probably would if I could find them easily, as curios if nothing else. Plus the covers are cool. And the end of LT3 with Transa - Enervate into Fix To Fax (VdM) - Meridian is hard to beat.
Anyway, I had a look on Gemm and they seem to be available for $25 USD each, up to you if it's worth it I suppose. But do as hadi said and try first. |

Ok, thanks again for your info. I guess it's not that well of a cd. Maybe I'll just download one of the songs and see if they're good, because I havent even heard of these artists. So thanks again.
