| I'm thinking of getting a cdj soon. I pretty much know to get either a cdj-1000, or cdj-800, or dn-s3000/5000. However, i just saw this cdj from denon which claims to be a slightly cheaper version of the s3000. Wondering how good it is and if its worth paying about 350 or so for one of these things. Anyone who works at a store or has any reviews... post it here.. thx. |

I was going to get 2 DN-S1000's but then I found out that they have a 0.1% pitch step on every setting. So I just got the DN-S3000's instead which have a 0.02%.
If it wasn't for that one fact I think I would have gotten the 1000's... :( |

I have..
(1) Denon DN-S5000
(1) Pioneer CDJ-1000
The Dn-s5000 can do .02% on the pitch, but only at +-4%, when you use +-10, +-16, or +-24, you only get .1% on the pitch
The 1000 can do .02% @ +-6%, and i believe .05% @ +-10%. The other thing I love about the 1000 is the wav readout on the top display.
I believe the CDJ-800 can only get to .05% on the pitch.
Also, for me, the spinning platter is more of a gimmick as I am not too comfortable w/ belt-driven tables and the platter on the cdj uses a belt (and act likes a belt-drive table). |

The dns1000 has no spinning platter, and 0.1%
The dns3000 has a spinning platter and 0.02%
Get it.
The dns5000 is the same as the 3000 but with a load of extra stuff...get it if you have extra money. |
