Every thread I've read today and yesterday has had someone spell their/there/they're wrong. I hate that. I thought about putting them all in quotes here so you would know how I cringe every time I read it but I didn't want to call out specific people because everyone does it at one point or another. So we're going to have a lesson.
there - in or at that place, point or stage.
(There is where you made that spelling error.)
their - the possesive of "they."
(It's not their fault they cannot spell, they just never learned properly.)
which brings me to the last one,
they're - the conjunction form of "they are."
(They're going to learn how to spell if it kills them.)
Next time: your and you're, its and it's, and there is no "a" in definitely! |

I also forgot to mention that I am aware that English might not be everyones first lanuage on this site, which is another reason why I didnt quote people... |
