Good. More room for me at WMC. Stick to your house crap. Toot-a-loo. Kick the gutter. Kthxbye. |

I can only speak for the all-ages show, but I just wasn't feeling it last night. :(
Maybe it was the poser crowd, maybe it was how packed the event was, leaving little space for dancing.
The hours before Paul weren't much to my liking, although I did dance most of the time because it's what I came to do. There were a few nice dark tribal tracks, a remix of Soul To Bare (been meaning to hear it live for a while now), and a really nice production with a cool guitar-mandolinish melody in the break (ID?). But other than that it was rather dull American progressive for me. I'm a trancer at heart. I also found the Space soundsystem too bass-heavy, and not in a club-friendly way; the highs and mids seemed drowned and toned down.
Paul's set wasn't bad, but it was... uninspiring. I mean no disrespect to the man, but I expect better from him. 4th of July was FAR better.
I know he's trying to promote the Vandit release of Marcos, but he caned the crap out of Marc van Linden the whole night. I don't know, it just rubbed me the wrong way when he left out so much other material.
I really like when Paul goes techy, and he put in a couple tracks that I'd really wanted to hear live (Kyau vs Albert - Made of Sun (KvA Hard Dub) and Reeloop - Kamistad (Johan Gielen Remix)!!!). But I felt it went on too long, and didn't really go anywhere in terms of flow. El Toro, bleh. Minor quibble.
He closed out with a couple tracks that sounded well produced, but seemed really off-key to me. The energy of the crowd dropped because it wasn't really connecting.
And the encore track was ::drumroll:: Nothing But You.
No Summer Dream, no Love Simulator, no The Spell, no Wir Sind Wir, no Childen of the Sun, etc. Yet he put in Time of Our Lives, Connected, Nothing But You, and Alive. Oh well.
I would like to see the final tracklist, though, because a couple tracks really struck me, particularly one techy one about fourth or fifth from last that was really amazing. |

| overall a decent night...paul was playing good in the begginning imo but as 400 rolled in i thought it got a bit monotonous.. anyway glad to hang with the ta's again as now there will be not many shows till conference...that is ok cause wmc05 is gonna rule considering the Ta takeover of the sheraton... |

what's up people??
i have to say it was defiantely an interesting night. i had a good time meeting alot more TAs. Ans edgar's set was the . especially when he dropped "Are you gonna go my way" that was awsome.but unfortunately for me the night ended entirely to early.
i was dancing on the other side of the stage. because there was no room around you guys. and i was up there for most of edgar's set, rocking out. well towards the end this fat guy that was rolling out of his mind, knocked me off stage and i fell on like 3 people.i landed funnt on my right foot and twisted it really bad. luckily the people under were kinda cool bout it, but my ankle was killing me. i tried to sit and wait te pain to go away, and it didnt. i stayed for some of van dyke, but i need to dance to have a good time and that wasnt happening. so i went upstairs, which was a total mission with my ankle the way it was. i listened to him till bout 3:30, then i just couldnt take it and went home.when i got home i took a couple of tylenol PM and went to bed till aorund now, and my ankle is now swollen and bruised. my feeling is now i have a remeinder of PVD.
needless to say i am a little pissed the night ended the way it did, but alteast i got to meet more of you guys.ambs, mattavi, rounder, bling, and of course melly sux i couldnt party with all of you more, but hey there is always next time.
PS edgar's set was the . better then what i heard from PVD, but i wasnt there that long. |

sounds like some new PvD material - well produced but with horrible key changes, its always the way with him :haha:

I suspected that, but they weren't just one or two phrase key changes, the whole melody was off key. It was really awkward and you could tell. |
