Yeh me either.
The way they caught people was the release people were leeching off p2p and crap like that had there IP's send to VALVE, which gave the user away. They only way to stay safe from that was to play it without your internet on. |

| HL2 was the first game I've paid for in a long time, and I'm sure glad I did! Great game, well worth the cash (especially with Steam and all). Go Valve! |

Eh, I agree that the game isn't that great. Multiplayer is what stands out in a game for me, and HL2 brought nothing new to the tables. Just the same ol' ty Counter Strike: buy, run, shoot, buy, run, shoot. Granted single player is fun, and they brought a lot of great features to it, single player doesn't make the availability of the game, multiplayer does.
As far as the 20,000 banned goes, well I guess they deserve it. IMO this was a much better solution to fixing their warez problem rather than going about suing people. So, for that, you have to give Valve teh props.

| There's actually a hl2 multiplayer, it's just waiting to be implemented. Right now if you download a little mod you can get it working on a testmap. |
