I just posted this in NYC forum. The Roxy is our version of the Koolhaus. Wish you could have been there ;)

I got in early at 10:30. I knew this was going to be a good night because the first stranger I met told me he drove all the way down from Toronto for this show! :crazy:
Lawler was already on the decks spinning some soulfull beats. As the night went on he got darker and harder. At 12:30, he was banging out dark angry beats and it was amazing! The crowd was going wild. I couldn't ID many of the tracks he played but I remember he played Lost and a mix of Chia Pet with HoochieCoochieMan.
Teneglia showed up at 4AM and Steve and Danny played together for about half an hour and then it was all Danny. Danny started out his set with Be Yourself ;) I left at 5. I was all danced out for Lawler. :D I heard the party was suppose to go on till 9AM.
Overall, it was a very good night. The sound was noticiably cleaner last night compared to other times I've been to Roxy. I noticed they did renovations in the club like put up sound insulation panels, more stacks, and more lights.
I did not see any TA's. I ended up hanging out with the guys who drove down from Toronto, and I met up with my friend Alex. So where were you guys? Crowd was very cool. Usually Roxy is a sausagefest with lots of pushing and shoving. But people were polite and there was room to dance. Girl/Guy ratio was 50-50. It wasn't mad packed in there nor unbearably hot.

Dammit, 2 DJs who play such good house.....I wish I coulda been there.
And yeah, Lawler's due in Toronto again. We've been waiting since june. |
