Let's say I wanted to transfer to U of T Scarborough for the concurrent BSc/Paramedicine program...
How is this campus compared to downtown (quieter?)? As well, to live near this campus, would I be too far away from all the good night life downtown? I've never lived in Toronto before, so I have NO idea where anything is.
Anyone at U of T or that knows about this care to help? :D
EDIT: Most importantly, what's a good place (price not really an issue as long as we're not talking 900+) to live around this are that isn't sketchy? |

Oh man, I'll get the things rolling here...
First of all, that campus is like high school. Size and attitude wise... if you don't mind that and don't care about the whole "university" experience (that the downtown one would probably provide), that's great.
Second of all, it's in the middle of freakin' nowhere, so yeah, it's quiet... too quiet. And it is faaaaar away from all the downtown action. Unless you have a car (or a few thousand $$$ for cab rides), you can forget about downtown on the weekends/late evenings :D
If you're a white guy, well, get ready to be a visible minority on the campus as well... |

All 100% true. I've been there a few time since some of my friends go there.
If you're white in Woodsworth college downtown, you'll be a visible minority too. :D |

Damnit. This is the only campus they offer the program at to. If not, I'm going to have to do 6 years of school for the same thing U of T offers for 4. That's definately what I don't want from a university... to be back in highschool again.
Any suggestions? |

Im definitely a visible minority, in all of my classes, and I'm in the St.George Campus. So, nothing should change in that regard. |

oh god, honestly speaking i survived 4 years at uft scarbs only because of the quality of education. The profs and the reputation for my program at scarbs were off the hook, but beyong that it blew chunks. I managed to find a group of peeps to hang out with but in 4 years we didn't spend a single minute in the university unless we had to.
Its small, dark and badly designed. Dont get me started on the gilz.
Stay away unless its absolutely crucial for your professional ambitions. |
