both Apocalypse and Celebration are in Montreal on NYE
the plan for alec and I is to go see the thrillseekers from 1:30 to 4:30...then catch the end of DJ dan, then Sander and Max Graham at the bell centre

OK...here is my review.....
after working for 32 hours straight thursday morning to friday at 1 pm.....came home......slept 4 hours.....then woke up to hang out with ALec before leaving ottawa for montreal (at about 11 pm)
the drive up was fun as always...empty road and great tunes...
got to montreal and we met up with Orangemek (MarK) and Mazen and Louis at St. Suplice......spent 2 hours there laughing it up....mostly laughing at mazen :D
thanks for Louis to start and Mazen and Mark for making the night fun for the both of us.....
got to Aria at 2:30 to catch the end of Liquid Todd's set....nice track selection.....but the first mix i heard was teh worst trainwreck i have ever witnessed......it was comical.....a prelude of the night ahead
Oaky took the decks at 3:20 and played for 2 hours (as he always does).....very little posing from him this time......seems like he has mellowed out....even saw him smiling a few times
his track selection were fabulous......each tune a floor shaker.....great melodies and basslines...and the mixing was respectable also.....no noticeable mistakes...a set of epic proportions i must say

BENZ AND MD - WONDER (TUNE!!!)
Marco Carola came on at 5:20....and started off sorta slow.....but 15 into his set, i was really loving it.....pumping beats with funky melodies and effects.....i usually HATE techno.....but i was loving what he was playing.... if it wasn't for Alec and his sore feet.....i would have stayed there much longer
on in all......great night......had a blast......thanks to the TA's for making the night great.....Mazen, Alec, orangemek, Louis, malek....and all the rest!

i'm not that positive about it.
First hour was flat and average, some great tunes here and there, but nothing really good. Second hour was much better tho.
Its nothing like a performance by Armin or Tiesto or even COrsten. People didn't go crazy.
I think that for the amount of money he charges, he's not giving much. |
