yo.
ERICK MORILLO TORE THE ROOF OFF CROBAR! the place didn't close till 10am!!!!!!!! I haven't danced so hard since Arc. The place was PACKED all night. there were more people there last night than any other night in crobar history.
un. be. lievable.
it was mayhem for quite a while. even the stairs were packed. but we found a spot on the second level and settled in. i just cannot tell you how amazing the night was.

| bree when i saw him at fluid in may 2003, he played some really good stuff, but he kinda mixed in 3, 4 tracks, stopped, and then threw on a totally different track than the previous one. he got into grooves and then abruptly ended it, so my impression of him was from that one night only and it wasn't a very good one. he doesn't do that nowadays does he? i'm just hoping it was that one night... i do regret not going to crobar to see this tho. |

well, he often does this thing called "live remixing", we're he'll basically be spinning and sampling 2 or more tracks at a time... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt haha ;) it's also something that can take some getting used to... i personally don't like it too much either, kills the progession and mood, but what can i say :rolleyes:
i still love his stuff though, this guy can play some KILLER tracks - really knows how to destroy the dance floor :crazy: |

i totally agree with you! And Sal, in answer to your post, Erick didn't jump all over the place and lose the groove. But i think that's due in part to having so much time to work everything in. The set flowed nicely. You will notice the variety of tracks I posted - all ends of the spectrum. But don't misinterpret that - i only wanted to show the range of his catalogue. the set made sense.
HOWEVER, Erick does have a habit of turning the music ALL the way down (for emphasis?) quite often. it can be a bit irritating if you are really into the track...but then you forget the irritation when he drops the bassline on your ass and you go bananas on the dancefloor. i think the effect is cool but he should do it less often. i felt like i got teased a wee bit too much.
but he kept dropping bombs and i danced through the blisters on my feet. nearly 10 hours on my feet...that says a lot to me.:)
one thing: i did miss seeing some TAs out there. :( |

now bree...how can you see TA's when crobar was packed to the fullest? hehehe it was soo crayz that night, people were popping from the walls...phew..thank god for vip :p
