That's your opinion. But you should know that between the ancient times and today a lot of different art has been created.

ill have to agree with deviant art... not only do they have the largest variety of art work, they also have lots and lots of quality work that deserves more than it gets.
there is lots of "bad art" as in.. 13 year olds trying and practicing (and thats the only way they'll get better), but sifting through all that you can find the most beautiful pieces. |

www.digitalblasphemy.com has a lot of great free CG artwork.
As far detached from the traditional form that art has taken in the past, there's still an obvious line between talent and no-talent, even in CG art. Conservative artists (there's probably more than you might think :p ) would have you believe that ANYONE can make CG art look good. In all actuality, it's very much like trance music and saying that ANYONE can make a "techno song". We all know that's simply *not* the truth. :D
Beauty is beauty, in whatever form it takes. A true artist can recognize that true beauty is not limited to anything. There's a lot of ancient art and otherwise that may be boring, but appreciating some of it for what it is will bring you to a new appreciation for life in general. Art is art just as beauty is beauty - it doesn't matter what form or what time period it comes from. |
