Crowd was way too small for my liking, and I think every other TA bailed. Some people I was expecting to bail but others I was really surprised with.
Anyway, Preach was everything I expected. I got there a bit late but it was sick beats from start to finish. Incidentally, he stayed on at least half an hour later than he was slated for. Good to see that the man delivers just as well no matter where he is or what the crowd is like. Of course it was nothing like his 8-hour marathon at Aria but it still kicked ass...
What surprised me a lot more was Marco Carola. Best set I've ever heard from him! I was at the back and didn't realize that he'd come on - he was coming off of Preach's set so he was playing a few hard tunes, then he proceeded into that minimal which I hate, I decided that I'd give him half an hour to get interesting, and he sure did get ing interesting! He was throwing down the dirtiest tracks with bang-on mixing, lots of filters and tribal techno and generally way harder than I've ever heard him play in Toronto before. So to all you Carola-haters, he's either changed his style recently or just wasn't trying on the other nights, because he was tearing it up last night.
And you ALL MISSED IT! Un-ing-believable considering how rare it is to get a good techno night in this city. Shame on you! |

I had my heart set on going to preach, but when it came down to it, I was too tired after work, and opted for a quiet night in....
too bad that got robbed of me also :(

thanks to bluebookings and all the people at the club in toronto, I love big cities!! went there with my best friends and my girl and we had an amazing time!! smirnoff vodka all night plus thai food with GregGow on sunday!!

Yeah i bailed out :( Had to go see Oakie, never seen the guy before... + i am going to see Preacher at Aria for NY, so i gave oakie a try.
