Well since Floorwhore has not started a review for the night I will.

Well the ride to T.O was an adventure because it was my second time driving there but it was first time driving from Cambridge. So needless to say we got lost. I started to panic but Dan (playa24_7) kept reassuring me we would get there and not to worry. Luckly we stopped and met a guy who was lost too and was driving towards the same direction we were trying to find. So we followed him and managed to find Spadina. So we got in around 2AM which was perfect timing.

Well we got into the club and greeted Floorwhore. Sean Miller was already blowing my mind!! I was telling Floorwhore what an amazing difference I hear in Miller since I first heard him @ Chus & Ceballos! Jeff advised me that he was talking to Miller that night and that he was very well rested and was going to give us a great treat that night! AND WHAT A TREAT IT WAS!!!!!!! I have never heard him drop some sick tracks in the other 2 times that I have seen him...not even for MORALES!!!! WOH!!!! I was then taken into his spell and danced away....

During that time I was introduced to DigitalMP!!! It was a pleasure. Very nice guy!!! (your nefew is too cute..thanks for sharing the pics with me) I hope to see you again soon!

The club got pretty busy (and I must mention a very nice looking crowd indeed!!) Pretty boys and beautiful girls EVERYWHERE!! WICKKED VIBE!!! WICKKED TIMES!!!

THEN>>>>>>>>came on WALLY LOPEZ!!!!!!! I think the third track he played that night was a track MORALES spun @ BOA. I was FREAKING OUT!!!!! (anyone who was there help me out with this.....) but yeah right then and there i just jumped on stage and danced my little ass off!!

The rest of the night was wicked. Chilled out with my boy Dan ( I love partying with u!!!!!!) and soon enough (TOO SOON IN FACT) the lights came on and it was time to go! I WAS SOOOOOOO not ready to leave.

The ride home was quite an adventure. With me and Dan have to go pee like every half hr....then talking the wrong direction home....but nevertheless we made it home safe and sound!!

Until next time......"dance the night away like it is your last"

MWAH!!!!!

Great party indeed.

Sean did a great job as usual with his warmup set, but i agree - in the middle of his set he dropped quite a few bombs that had the place going nutty. He's built such a solid collection of records that his warmup sets have become complete teasers!! Cant wait to hear what he'll drop this Saturday.

Wally Lopez came on just after 4am and started things off nice and jumpy. Great sized crowd, but room to move all night - the whole place was definately up for a party. His set was fantastic, taking us all on a journey of house, but the real techy stuff towards the end is what really impressed me the most. Me and my partner n' crime (Brie) were flippin' out on the dancefloor for about an hour straight right up front, wicked times. I still dont know how you guys (Dan, Dave and Kelly) could sit through that chunk of tunes he dished out! We were completely spent just before 8:00 so we decided to jet to Sauga for a day of relaxing, sleep, thai food, and beer. Hope your b-day was a great one Davey - sorry i couldnt hit the Zone after - next time for sure.

I was hesitant on giving my review because i was only there for 4 odd hours, but i will say that BOA's sound system is one of the sweetest i have heard before. It's an odd kind of design for a club though, not too sure how i'd feel about those steps if the place got really crowded and people weren't in the right state of mind -- but damn, all of that is really trivial when you're inside a room that is so finely tuned to the acoustics (whoever decide to convert a movie-theatre into a club is a friggin genious !)

Apart from the interiors of the club, and the sound i was pleasently suprised by the friendliness of the staff as well. They definately added to the sense of vibe which was beginning to build up before Lopez hit the decks.

Which brings me to the music, and to be fair -- maybe i was expecting a bit too much, because although Sean Miller was good, i did find myself getting bored of a few of his more housier selections during the opening (not that they were bad tracks, just not my cuppa tea that's all). Still, if memory serves correct i didn't hear any technical snaffus from the Boa resident so i'd say he threw down a solid set (just wish it was more dirty and less disco house). Only caught the opening hour and a half of Lopezes set, which was again solid, but nothing spectacular. There was an Iberian flavor to most of the joints which i suspect even Sean Miller purposely blended into his set, and quite frankly that just wasn't doing it for me. I need my house to be down right dirty and tribally like NYC house, which has that dark edge to it.

The Lounge area had some decent beats playing as well. Not sure who the DJ's were but they were definately holding it down with some tight funky tracks which had the place bouncing. I was a little suprised though as to how much smoking goes on down there (and i'm a smoker)...the first few guys i thought were just being s, and not really heading the bylaw, but it seemed that almost everyone down there knew that smoking wouldn't be a problem (i didn't light up -- but having seen the sheer number of smokers, i don't think i'll hesitate next time)

So overall, a good night to experience Boa. I can safely say i will return to Toronto's best sounding club, although it will probably have to be a house DJ who i am familiar with or an exclusive Breaks event (although i don't think too many of those will take place there)

It was an adventure on the way down with speed racer Kelly (dance2dabeat)haha. Passing the correct turn off. Then me with my bright ideas, thinking we could just keep going and turn off somewhere else, only I didnt know where exactly, and couldn't see signs because my eyes are crap! lol. After finding a person at a 7-Eleven going in the direction we needed, and following him, we were on the right street, parked, and at the entrance to Boa.

Now the first time I went to Boa to see Morales, it took me abit to get into the different feel of house music, compared to trance. It was my first time hearing house at a club pretty much. I didnt really know house that much untill I went there, but I started liking it more and more.

This time when I went in, oh man, there was no waiting time for me to get into it. Right away I was loving every single second of it. When I got to the top of those stairs, and hearing Miller spinning some hard stuff, holy I was lovin it! haha. Drop my friggin coat at coat check, and head for the floor.

Meet up with floorwhore for abit, telling us Miller is well rested, and you could already tell cause Miller was goings nuts! WAY different then the first time I heard him. It started getting more packed and people were all over the floor. Even if you are the type to just chill on the sidelines, you couldnt help but dance it up! The change in the crowd from Morales was alot different, but i'll let other people explain that one lol.

Wally Lopez spun some crazy ass , amazing set. I was dancing my ass off of course. The vibe was awesome, with mad nice people, everyone just having a great time. Hanging with my wicked girl Kelly, who'd be rich if she got even 10cents for each person she pumps up around her haha, my favorite person to party with!

About 10 minutes before the lights came on, Wally is clapping his hands in the booth to the song hes spinning, with me, kelly, and like 3 other people still on the floor, still going crazy. The music stops, the lights come on, everyone claps for him, not wanting to leave, but the night is done.

Like an hour and 45min drive home, because of getting lost again, and like 37 pisses later from us lol, I get home, take a shower, and sleep. BOA is always an amazing time. LET THERE BE SOUND! hehe
:D

Wow...what the hell happened to my review?

Anyways, we got in around 2:45, and Sean was killin it as usual. We parked in our usual spot, up near the lower bar, and I visited the washroom, right when Sean dropped Peter Bailey's "U Need It". I can't recall if it was my fave Saeed & Palash Remix, but when I came out, I went up to say hi to him and such. He started flipping through his records, and I saw Jose Nunez' Bilingual! "Sean! I love that track!", I exclaimed.

We bs'ed for a minute or two, and I let him get back to work, and a little while later, Bilingual came on! Whooo!!! Happy bday to me! I need to have sex to that track soon! Well, I mean, not with myself, but yeah, anyways.

Wally came on and just brought the sickness! I've never heard so many nasty tracks that I didn't recognize! There was one track he played around 6, wasn't the artist Shining Gray, or something close to that? And what remix of Lola was that? Either it was one I've never heard, or the original just sounds SO good on the dancefloor that it blew me away!

One thing is for sure, that when I'm chillin with the crew, it's a completely different time zone than on the dancefloor. Wow! That sound is unreal! No, I'm not just noticing now, I'm just seeing new light, or umm...hearing new sound ;)

Jeff, nice chillin with you as always bro. I'm going to get some new knees and then I can forget about my sit-down breaks!

Kelly & Dan, great meeting you two! I'm glad you two got home alright! I'll have pictures ready soon. I have so much schoolwork to do right now. 2 more weeks! Btw, Kelly, you're such a sweetheart...I hope I see you two out again soon :)
