What is the Differences!!!

| i know to you people it might be clear but i have in no way shape or form no the differences between trance, techno, goa or ne other sub-genre. What makes the differences??? Is it the bpm's the drumline What?? This has always been confusing to me ever since i started listening to Electronic music. Much help appreciated. Thx |

| There is far too much categorisation in electronic music. If a track is good then it's a good track regardless of what genre it fits into. |

It's more for the elitists, I think. As someone said, good music is good music regardless of genre.
Given a hip hop song and a trance song, you could tell the difference, right? You'd have little difficulty telling a Jungle beat from a Trance song. Just keep getting more and more picky, like Breaks from Trance, and finally Techno from Trance, and House from Techno. Some people like to categorize. :clown: |

Listen to the different genres and you will notice :D.. A few examples are:
Trance: Try some Above & Beyond productions..
GOA: Astral Projection, Infected Mushroom, Astrix: You should notice quite a big difference in the melodies in tracks by these artist compared to normal trance.
Techno: Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer and others... Not too much melody in tracks by these guys.. |

the difference is obvious after a while of going out
just listen to some styles of djs that someone suggested. |
