So my teacher, being the good teacher she is, is making my final exam a take home exam. She gave it to us yesterday and I wouldnt mind getting alittle help. Now... I dont need ya'll to write the essay for me, but I wouldnt mind alittle help brainstorming the topics to see which one I could do that would get me the best grade possible.
-----------
1. Starting with the Spanish-American war of 1898, write an essay in which you explain how U.S. foreign policy changed and how has it stayed the same. In your answer you should consider any U.S. wars that we have studied in this class (for example: Spanish-American, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam war, and U.S. interventions in Central America during the 1980s) as well as any major treaties, policy statements, or diplomatic events (such as the Truman Doctrine, the Open Door Policy, the 14 points, the Yalta and Potsdam agreements, the U.S. involvement in the United Nations, etc).
2. According to President Calvin Coolidge, “The Business of America is Business.” Write an essay in which you explain how the position of the U.S. government towards business has either changed or remained the same since the era of World War One. In answering the question, consider how the American government has sought to regulate businesses during different eras, how the government has attempted to aid business growth, and the ways in which the government has sought to protect employees and consumers from businesses. Was there a particular era that you think stands out as one in which the current attitude of the government towards business was shaped? Which era was that and how did it shape the way the government currently relates to business?
3. During the semester, we have studied many right wing movements (the first, second and third Klans, the Prohibition movement, McCarthyism, and the New Right). In your essay explain any similarities that you see between these movements – do they have ideas in common, similar goals, similar strategies for achieving their goals? – as well as any differences in ideas, goals and strategies. How important do you think such movements have been in shaping American politics and culture, and why do they continue to emerge?
4. During the course of the semester, we have discussed how specific government policies were pushed “from below” by social movements. In your essay explain how the government policies of the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1960s were shaped by social movements or activist groups. Be as specific as possible in discussing connections between actions by social movements and laws that were passed in response to public pressure.

I need to write 3 pages about one of these topics. The paper gets graded on 3 parts: basis of completeness in answering the question, coherence, and use of specific factual examples to support your case.
Which one would you do?
Help me brainstorm and figure out an outline of what to write about. |
