ok to all.. i was just posting this... i'm going to be putting alot, if u want to know how much time i spend on this stuff last saturday i speant 16 hours! Why do you guys hate me???
Dirk W.
no hate man.

Just think about what youre doing. I explained myself earlier. Its not a good post, you got called on it -- its not a hate thing.

It's not that we hate you, we just question your credibility. I say this because of the way you came across in your initial posts back when you first registered. First impressions are very important. That, and you keep going on and on about your website and how good your production work is, and unfortunately the three remixes you did so far aren't as "hot" as you make them out to be. If I were you, I'd listen to some of the responses on here. There is some great advice and criticism you should read.

As for this thread, I agree with the rest of the posters. This thread would be more suitable 8 months or so from now, if and when your cd is actually complete.

ok well im sure you are much better now (im definitly sure). however, you should show your work to more people, the more people that critique it, the more errors you will find and therefore in future productions, you will avoid them. i remember making the same mistake after the next and not knowing it, until someone pointed it out, and there went my album down the drain, haha. i mean i wasnt trying to release it, but ya. you can think of everytrack you make like you are learnign from it, and try new stuff in other tracks, like automation with the fx and stuff like that. 16 hours is quite a long time. but experience is key here. songs take many edits and before they are complete, and im not sure, but probably a good, 3-4 weeks before they are release quality. anyways, show some of your new stuff, so you can get advice. they worst thing you could do is make the whole thing by july without showing anyone and sending it to labels.

dj intrigue really hit the nail on the head with his post

i mean its good that you are excited about your productions. when i made my first song that i shared on here, i thought "wow, how can i make anything better than that" but over the past year with help from others and advice and posting a lot of stuff, its really helped me know what and what not to do when producing. but like i said in the other post, its not meant to bash you, but just advise from me about stuff i learned since i started producing, which helped big time. yea, so keep at it, and show your stuff on the forums, but dont overdo the complements of your own songs, because then people listen to it, and they would think this guy is a joke. just a post like, here is a new song i am working on, can i have some feedback to make it better would be better than, yada yada yada its a nice piece of work or something. remember all the producers have gone through making a song, and feeling like its teh best thing they made and its release quality only to get a bunch of comments about how to fix it. believe me, the first song i had someone ask if i was going to send it to label, i was surprised that they asked, so wait for someone to ask you, and it will feel good. =)

I feel the same way about my Dj'ing as you do about your production work. I look back at some of my older mixes and I say to myself ' I could have done this better' or 'why did I use that track' or 'that was ty' or ' only if knew what I know now' etc. But I think by putting yourself out there you learn about yourself and your work that you couldn't if you wait and wait until that perfect moment. Why? In my experience I think you start to become even more aware of your work once its out in the public than if where just on your computer

Obviously all of us want to impress people immediately but I think we will find greater reward in our future success when you struggle and work hard to be your best.

yea, that is how it happened when i first started mixing too. stopped the mixing when i started producing, cuz i think producing is like 100x more fun that spinning, hell of a lot harder to get good at though

unless you are going for the non release style on the pads. i would say up the release a bit more so they blend together nicer. maybe put the attack up a little bit too, just a very little though. see this is better than your other stuff. maybe at 108, you want to fade in that synth a little longer, so it doesnt sound so abrupt. also use a reverse crash too. percussion definitley sounds better. that melody coming on at 130 is good you should make it louder though. its too low. the bassline is really weak. if you are doing it on fruity loops, you should add a fruity blood overdrive to it, and put a subbassline as well to give it more power. better than that other stuff you made thats for sure. are you going to make this song longer? maybe you might want to finish it and share it in the amateur producers forums to get more feedback. producing is fun huh? especially when you improve.

btw, i cant tell cuz the bass is so low, but are you changing the bass notes or ar eyou leaving it at one note. because you should try changing it, like repeat it twice on one note, and then go up a nother note, you can do it with 3 or 4 or however many you want, it might be harder to get it sounding in tune with the rest of teh songm but definitly at least make it change one note
