Hi I am new in this board ;)
Who can tell me what is trance? Whats the diffenerence to house,....
Is Mauro Picotto Trance?
It would be nice if someone can explain me that!

| Trance is a genre of Electronic music that everyone on this message board loves and lives with every eyeblinking minute of thier life. Thats MY explanation of what trance is :) if you want to figure out what the difference between trance and house is you're going to have to develop an ear for trance, then listen to house and you'll tell the difference, its hard to explain what the difference is online. It's hard to give exact differences between different genres of electronica, and a lot of artists (including the almighty Mauro Picotto) mix elements from several of them. My best advice is that you traverse the previous threads that asks for recommendations on dream-trance, epic-trance, progressive, techno, hard-trance, hard-house etc. and then go find some of these tracks and see if you can hear similarities and differences between the genres. And always remember that there is no universally accepted difinition of these genres, so whatever you come up with is as valid as what the rest of us can come up with.

For me trance is when you hear music and you forget everything around you. You forget where you are and what you're doing, you just hear the tunes.
and I already had that thought before I read it,eversince I began to listen to trance(thanx to the bonzaï 5 comp.):)

Heres the definition of Trance. :)
A hypnotic, cataleptic, or ecstatic state.
Detachment from one's physical surroundings, as in contemplation or daydreaming.
A semiconscious state, as between sleeping and waking; a daze.

I agree with my fellow tranceaddicts no matter how hard I try to explain, I dun make sense... The only way to find out is definately listening to many tunez... you can distinguish it only then and it's amazing how there's tracks that will always be hard to categorize, but we all know good music when we hear it, especially good trance ;)

music that takes your mind on a journey of it's own, trance can make you forget everything around you, and make you fall into this daze, so when you come back to reality-when trance stops playing, :( , your body feels so relaxed, your mind free........

As a lot of ppl in here have quite rightly sed, the only way to get the difference between trance and house is to listen to both, and get ur own line dividing the two. Have a listen to these and you will be able to tell the difference :D
