1. You don't need a stupid ing iTunes on your system
2. No need to install any additional software period! Just plug in your iRiver and drag the files over - could it be any simpler???
3. Sound quality - 10x better
4. Remote control
5. No battery problems - had mine for more than a year, battery is as good as new
6. Does not die if you leave it in a cold car (iPod baterry discharges in the cold completely)
7. Has a built in radio, microphone (can record wav or mp3) - great for live shows!
8. Cheaper! - the new color iRiver that can also double as picture viewer is 10x better than iPod.

PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!! iPod sucks!!!! But... if you're a lame AOL user and prefer overly complex solutions to make it "easy" for you - well... what can I say...

I bought my wife an iPod and she's not computer savvy and she absolutely hated it! she took my iRiver to try and does not want to return it! Go figure....

Oh well, to each his own.

I've seen this posted somewhere else.....

wow.. ure asking other people what YOU should want for christmas??? no offence but since when has christmas become about RECEIVING..to me its always been about spending time with family and GIVING!!!!!! if anything. i thought people grow out of that "me me me, i want i want i want" stage at a much younger age.

go work at a shelter this christmas or something.

Isnt that a bit of an over reaction? Alot of people's parents give their children a certain amnount of money to spend on gifts for themselves, and it seems like this person just doesnt know what to ask for. While I agree with your sentiments on the meaning behind the holidays, its impossible to think that people wont think about what they want to ask for. This is not the same as thinking what they will get. While shopping for others may seem a monumentous task for some, others have identified certain traits about the recipients of their gifts that make shopping much easier. Thus they may already know what theyre giving while being unsure about what they want.

I dont seee a problem with the original post at all.

On somewhat of a tangent, working at a shelter is a great way to establish a tie with your community.

Um, music? This is a music forum after all. All I really want for Christmas is CDs or money for CDs. Anything else would just be a bonus. Not sure what to get people though...

Goodgreef: NO, it's not just about me and presents, but you see: christmas is a time to get AND give presents to family and friends. My sisters asks me what I want for christmas, then I kind of have to give them some clues of what I want. They get almost angry if I dont say any. Dont you just hate it when you're supposed to buy presents to friends, and they say absolutely nothing about what they want? Frustrating, jea :whip:

Tribu: Well, thank you :)

I think its a great feeling when you've bought presents to people, and they Really enjoy it :)
E.g: Last year a guy moved to where I live, I knew where he lived and stopped by him first day. We've been GOOD friends all along. To his birthday I gave him a pair of Sony headphnones, neckband with some fancy reflection stuff, because I bought myself Koss Porta Pro
They were not some crap either, they cost app. 80$, yea. Thats alot of money. But we're good friends, and its nice to have the ability to share :)

no i dont think so.
just the way he phrased his original post...made it sound like he was a bit of a spoiled brat :p and i dont think spoiled brats deserve much compassion in "not being able to find the right present for themselves"... :p haha
