Well well well... what can I say.. Donald proves once again to be among my fav. djs!! :D
I preferred this set over the one from last December also.. he was all over the place in terms of style.. he started after Yaz by throwing down some harder beats, keeping with the flow.. then went through phases of some proggier tracks (which are never boring with this guy because he is always keeping it interesting between his crazy scratching or djm tricks) played some old skool hip hop, some breaks.. some TECHNO ( i knew he dropped marco bailey tracks and stuff before.. but damn he impressed me with his track selection for sure) some remixes, not really any disco, but most of all.. he is THE one man party behind the decks!! From screaming out 'Make some en noiiiiise' or "Raise your hands up!" to his signature tricks like moving the crossfader with his nose.. such a showman and so much fun! :)

The crowd was so-so.. it wasn't that busy which is unfortunate because you can tell Glaude really goes off in that tight environment, but I think he definitely made quite the impression on people!
so glad I went! Beats seeing Roger S for the fifth time in Ottawhack. ;)
I don't have pics from the night.. this is just one of Glaude.
Next time he comes to town I'll kick people's asses if they don't go. |

ya.. I noticed it got a bit busier as his set went on.. but never really filled up.
I know there are many people in Ottawa who would loooove to see Donald Glaude, I'm hoping a promoter will book him soon... I know the club would be packed and the people would be screaming from the beginning of his set until the end!! :D
I know he would make a really good impression. |
